Going back to the SHL if Carlsson is on NA for pre-season, then it's not ideal to return to the SHL because he'll be missing three months with Orebro. SHL pre-season starts Aug 1 and Carlsson won't be returned until November, the 9th game for the Ducks is Oct 30th.
Is it actually given that Carlsson will remain in the US until Ducks camp starts?

Leo will practice with Örebro for a month and then travel over to try and grab a spot, or at least see where he's at when it comes to playing in the NHL.

From the article:

There has been a development camp in Anaheim and now he will train with Örebro for a month.
The Anaheim Ducks have rookie camp September 13-18 with practice in Los Angeles and a tournament in Las Vegas.

Carlsson will probably get a 9-game NHL stint. If he plays the first 9 NHL games, then his last game is Oct 30th. He doesn't want to play in the AHL and would rather go back to the SHL. (that is in the article link)

Alright, thanks. I was a bit irritated with that notion he’d be missing three months of time with Örebrö (if he was to go back), as this timeline would have it closer to half that.

Saw a TikTok video showing him boo Bettman, if it’s not edited and true how can you not already like the kid. I’ve seen numerous interviews of him now showing his humor, for example they were asking the draft prospects if they could take a skill from any NHL player what would they take? Most guys said McDavid’s skating, or Ovi’s shot. Carlsson said Lundqvist’s looks. I’m glad he has a humorous side and isn’t taking it all too serious.

Really think he should just stay in SHL the whole year. Play center, have a strong season, grow into the body and come in strong next year. This obsession with rushing prospects into the NHL is just really bizarre. It's not like he is going to be a godtier 1c putting the team into the playoffs, and no matter what this team is going to suck ass this next season, let them suck ass in peace and let him improve and prepare in peace.

Who does it sound like this from? Lots of conflicting statements all rolled into one "x".
I don't really see any conflicting statements. They think he's best served for another Sweden but expects him to get his 9 nhl games and then go to the AHL if it's too much.

It's possible that he can both be ready to play in the NHL and not be a dominant 1C yet. Players do develop at this level, especially the good ones.

Some people are just addicted to the tank.

Yup, worked just on for Stutzle and Hughes. Some guys are just ready to develop in the big leagues. Carlsson very well could be one of those guys, and I imagine that’ll become apparent in his 9 game stint.

Absolutely, my assertion has never been that he should wait until he is a "dominant 1C"(spoiler, he won't be that in two years either), the point was that he has a lot of factors(not played center for a sustained period of time in a while, grown like 71 feet in two years) that could be challenging enough to grow into, and seeing as the team is not rushing to get an extra inch to get that next step, why risk putting your best prospect through a brutal situation when he could develop those things much easier without playing for survival? He might do well in that environment, but in general I don't think that is the optimal road to go down. I think getting an extra jump in development so that he is comfortably playing his role at a high enough level where he won't have to sacrifice certain parts of his skillset to keep up would be better.

The passive aggresive last sentence is stupid beyond comprehension. Firstly, the team will suck ass no matter what, so what gives? Secondly, I'm not particularly invested in the team no matter what(outside of Carlsson perhaps), so not sure why you are trying to put that on me. Thirdly, it's one thing to want the team they have in the league to give their best in each game, but potentially sacrificing the optimal future just to suck slightly less seems...... yeah. Again, off course there is a debate to be had, I could be totally of the mark and in Carlssons case it either becomes the best choice for him, or it didn't make much difference in his case(we won't exactly know either way ofc).

Accidentally picked two guys who are by far the two best players from their draft classes, are we gonna bring up Mcdavid while we are at it? I don't think that proves the concept. But I agree that we might see if they do the 9 game thing, and maybe he ends up rocking. Lets hope for the best either way!

Idk how the rules work exactly…. But can he do his 9 nhl games…. Then do a time in AHL and then back to Sweden?

Is there much of an advantage for him in Sweden over the ahl? I feel like he’ll get top line mins in either league…. But AHL he’ll be playing with future teammates in nhl and on nhl ice.

He can be loaned to the SHL at any time. The 9 games are just for contract reasons.

How would it be a "fight for survival" to play in Anaheim? Just because they'll be bad? Who cares. If he's ready to develop as a center on NA ice then he's ready, it doesn't matter how the team will be. What matters is whether he'll be insulated from sink-or-swim situations where his confidence is at risk and can't be rescued by situational deployment, and on this team, that won't be a problem for him. There are plenty of centers who can play ahead of him if need be.
