How has Leo been looking? Any nickname yet?

On day 1 of dev camp, he was grouped in with fellow draftees Myatovic (33rd OA), Terrance (59th OA), and Pitre (65th OA). There was an endurance skating drill and a skating skill drill. Compared to his fellow draftees, Carlsson was head & shoulders smoother, faster, and agile. He was able to process what the coaching staff wanted from the drill like he's been doing this drill for a while even though it's his first time. His teammates didn't fare as well as he did.

Still, it's a very small sample and just one skill drill.

As for nickname, the only moniker bandied about outside of his name is "potential franchise 1C". With that kind of projection, he could be connected with Simba.

Not much to report there now, as we have just some basic training going on. Firday will have 3on3 scrimmage IIRC

The summer months are upon us. Not much happening around the league, forum is also slowing down as well.

If he doesn’t Michigan to the sound of three to four “wow’s” from the crowd, we for sure lost the draft.

Spittin Chiclets interview with Fantilli and Carlsson. I just turned it on, but Biz as well is talking that his understanding from the sandbagger was that Fantilli preferred Columbus.

Edit: seems all those interviews are pre-draft

The first four picks of the draft were all listed as a centerman:

1. C Bedard
2. C Carlsson
3. C Fantilli
4. C Smith

If Fantilli can't improve his hockey sense, then I think Carlsson will be the only one sticking at center in the NHL for good. And weird part is that he's been playing wing for the past two seasons.
