yeah maybe without Panarin we could have like, Bedard and Owen Power now or something. they'd be worse.

Edstrom with 2 shifts in the 3rd, Berard with 3. Cuylee with only 12:36 ice-time.
WTF are we continuing to send Kredier and Mika out there when neither of them are doing anything useful?

Because that is NHL Dino Coach 101. Find a guy with an actual brain instead of a yet another retread with 50 years of hivemind as substitute for intelligence.

Laviolettes well on his way to getting fired. It’s not all his fault, but he’s the easiest piece to change…again.

I’m also just done with this group. They had their shot, they’re cooked. You can’t win with guys that don’t want to forecheck.
It’s what Peca said in the intermission.

Sometimes you just have to do the effective things and keep it simple and execute.

Like shooting the f***ing puck.
Like taking the body.
Like blocking shots.
Backchecking.
Forechecking.

I don’t buy the confidence shit. Mental horseshit.

A lot of this team never wanted to do the simple things consistently and get dirty to find wins.

They refuse to do the simple things consistently as a team because several important “leaders” on this team refuse to “lower” themselves to that level of simplicity.

Its about a selflessness for 60 min to get back on track and find the swagger later once you find it again.

Its always had to be flashy and cute and they can’t pull it off on the regular anymore. And now they are all struggling to find it. And now they will lose consistently because of it.

The wheels have finally fell off. When a team gets into these slumps, it's honest hockey that gets them out of it.

I thought tonight could be the night where the bad habits could still get a win.

Please just start playing the guys that are doing the right things. Mika never should've seen another shift in the 1st after that giveaway and defensive effort.

Hand the keys over. The "core" was never good enough anyway

The Oilers were getting unlucky results, and then fired the coach, and went back to just scoring normally.

The Rangers just stink.

Yup.

The Oilers could have kept Woodcroft and they would have finished exactly where they did.

Unlucky results and f*** shit goaltending f***ed them early. I laughed when people were writing them of because them turning it around and pushing their way back in was the most obvious outcome ever no matter what the playoff prognosticators had their chances at last Thanksgiving.

I'll be honest, I thought they would have gotten back in as a wild card team. They finished 2nd in their division and got to shit stomp the kings for the 1000th season in a row.

Henrik is so spot on in the postgame. This issue is execution. As he said, it seems like everything even 5 foot passes are off and in the skates or slightly too far or too short and when that’s happening with every pass it makes it impossible to play fast and the style the Rangers usually play when they’re clicking. So instead they turn into every zone entry being one guy trying to go straight against 3 defenders.

It’s so clear watching. The details and execution aren’t there. Every pass is off, shots are missing the net, players are making reads a second too slow. It’s all a lack of the details in the game.
Seems like a product of simply not caring. The vets are completely checked out & it's taken over the roster.

And still an L.

Starting to see why it's not worth paying a goalie that much when you have a severely flawed team?
We've been a flawed team for 4 years while Shesty has made 5.6 mil. I'm not a fan of paying him 11.5, but that won't be the reason we don't win.

Signing Panarin and aborting the rebuild.
@GoAwayPanarin will rebut me but IMO there is a timeline where they sign Panarin but also put more emphasis on the future (trading Kreider, not trading Buch or trading him for futures, not signing Mika to that terrible deal).

We wouldn’t have 2 conference finals appearances but Panarin could have been a very fun player for the franchise and we could be coming out the other side right about now with a still-elite Panarin and a lot more young talent ready to really compete.

The Rangers team is in trouble. 2-3 home stand. That Montreal game was headed for a loss before Dach took a dumb double minor. Got blown out by Jersey. Beat Pittsburgh. Lost back to back home games to Seattle and Chicago. Four of those teams are out of playoff spots. 2-3. Chicago is so bad and the Rangers were dreadful.
