Remember how the team looked right before they shut the world down for COVID

That game against Montreal

Mika 5 goals against Washington

It was fun.

Then we won the lottery

Future was bright

And it's been fun. But they just didn't have the balls to change shit after last year
Was thinking of this earlier

The juice is completely out of the Garden

my love for the franchise is secondary to my hate for this group of unlikeable ugly chumps. I am actively rooting for this group of individuals to be embarrassed and shamed. I want to see as many players especially the soft long haired ones get manhandled and emasculated for being wussies.

what does this team do well?

can't handle the puck.
can't pass.
can't skate.
can't forecheck.
can't create space.
can't take away space.
can't defend.
can't shoot.
can't execute any form of a system.

I just can't comprehend how they can be that bad

What’s even more bothersome is watching Mika glare back at Lindgren after the goal like it wasn’t his fault.

I mean there has to come a point where there is some accountability. Mika just isn’t playing well and his negative vibe is coarsing through this team
He’s my least favorite Ranger of the past 10 years. When he arrived here, he drove me absolutely nuts. Then he turned into a great player. As soon as he secured the bag, he’s right back to the same crappy lazy player again.

i say this with no anger or violence in my heart but someone needs to fight zibanejad and keep punching him in the face one hundred times to get him to wake up. This is the only way.
Why can’t we just bench him. It’s at that point now…we haven’t even taken him off of PP1 yet!! Dude has no negative incentives for his shit play. Introduce some negative incentives for once and see if that changes anything.

@GoAwayPanarin will rebut me but IMO there is a timeline where they sign Panarin but also put more emphasis on the future (trading Kreider, not trading Buch or trading him for futures, not signing Mika to that terrible deal).

We wouldn’t have 2 conference finals appearances but Panarin could have been a very fun player for the franchise and we could be coming out the other side right about now with a still-elite Panarin and a lot more young talent ready to really compete.

The thing is, signing Panarin 100000% influenced these things.

The emphasis in the 2019 offseason shouldn't have been in finding a "fun player." Stop gaps in positions where they were needed while figuring out what the f*** they had internally should have been the way to go.

Whats going on right now isn't really his fault, but the decision to sign him has had a heavy influence on it if that makes sense. If they're making wholesale changes this summer, he's one of the vets I'd be looking to ship out if he's agreeable to it.

it's crazy, there's zero accountability. It's nuts. There's no one sane in the organization that sees Mika as a problem let alone a cancer.

This is why Lav needs to go. Exhibit f***ing A

The series of miscues Zib made on the first goal was just laughable. Fanning on a ring around and then covering a teammate instead of an opponent in the slot. Beyond comprehension.

And the lazy, terrible penalty Kreider took. f***in hell man.

I feel like these guys are trying to get Lavi and/or Drury fired. Can’t think of another reasonable explanation.

Finally people outside of the NYR bubble are starting to notice Mika. I’ve been waiting for this moment for so long. He deserves all the loud public ridicule.

Mika going to the front with zero intention or plan of what to do and boxing out Lindgren from defending the back door and opening the lane for Chicago in the process was arguably worse than his baby soft turnover on this play. Pee Wee level stuff here.

Feels like yesterday man. A real bright spot in the most difficult time of my life.

It's been a good run. This core really should've been able to compete this year; shame this is how it ends.

The one I'll never understand is Zibanejad. He was other worldly good. Right now I don't even think he's a third liner. What a short lived prime; you don't see that too often.

Usually injuries are the reason for this type of decline but he's been perfectly healthy. He burst onto the scene well after he broke his leg early on in his NYR tenure

Nuke this f***ing team.

Keep:
Igor
Fox
Schneider
Cuylle

Literally anyone else on the team is in play for the right price.

f*** it, if someone wants Igor and can pay the bill, they can have him too. Rip it down to the studs. This team is like a house that got flooded. You need to rip everything out because you don't know where the mold got to.

Nobody is placing all of the blame, or even most of the blame, on him.

But he set the tone for this core's identity.
Not who I would have picked that would reflect upon David Quinn's incredible brainwashing powers.

Re: Mika

Enough is enough. You have to scratch him at this point. He's not an NHL top 6 forward right now.

Let him get in the press box and just watch. I'm serious; not even as a message sending type thing. He knows he's playing like dog shit. What do we have to lose?

Let him do a hard reset. Power off, power back on.

Realistically, he comes back and is still buns but at this point I'm not sure what else to do. Something has to change.

All I'm saying is, we need to hire a coach who will set some standards.

The last one was Torts and AV rode it to an entire window of contention.
I think that was the idea behind Laviolette. Standards. A system! Remember when they made a big deal about competing in practice?

Holy shit they had multiple glaze pieces about actually trying in practice.

Panarin is the best player this team has had since Jagr. If we didn't have him we'd just have more mediocrity, the team has a hard time developing players, without Panarin and Fox we'd be looking like Buffalo the last 5 years. I enjoyed our runs even if they didn't result in a cup, better than not watching playoffs

Laviolette has typically had a shelf life, he's currently the moldy loaf of Wonder bread at the end of the isles.
