BC Pp 2 actually has been looking better than PP 1 for a while.

PP1 looks like shit lately. And trocheck is horrible.

Like whats the worst that can happen if he switches up the PP. We still dont score? You can always go back to original Pp units.
'What's the worst that can happen!' The second cousin of 'lets call up a youngster to showcase him'. Aka things that are said on message boards 1000000x more times than in real life.

First game since covid... hate nothing more than losing to the leafs... this one is one gallant and the fat cats.

Ask his number one fan in the fire Gallant thread I’m sure he’ll spin up a great defense
I assume you're referring to me even though I'm the guy that says there's very little difference between coaches. I've written that multiple times, here. Ask @Machinehead if you doubt me.

You're part of the group that believes that if the Rangers had a real coach, they'd win the Cup,

There is no other conclusion that can be drawn because they made it to the final 4 with this absolute moron. A good coach would easily have won it all last season, else your position makes zero sense. Or are you saying a good coach would have beaten Tampa and then lost in the Finals? That's such a stupid thought that no one believes it.

Kreider missed a tap-in to an empty net and then got beaten by his man for the tying goal and all the usuals blame Gallant. It's because Gallant forgot to tell Kreider to deflect it in and he forgot to tell him not to lose his man in the defensive zone late in the game. Damn that Gallant.

The best news for you is you got the result that stirs you into a red-hot rage that makes you feel validated. You actually prefer losing to winning because you think it will hasten Gallant's exit. Then you'll moan endlessly that that the new guy, whomever he is, is not the right guy for the job, or washed up or.....

They lost in OT, on the road, to the 2nd best team in the NHL.

The sky is falling and some are acting like their hair's on fire, like after every single loss.

P.S. You guys also better let Chytil know to cut it out because young forwards don't develop in NY. He's ruining another prevailing narrative.

Such a bullshit reply.

Literally if we dont score, its notmlike the outcome would be worse. pp1 has sucked for a while now.
You don't know if you don't score until afterward. Beforehand, your best chance to score is with your best.

I should add.. gallants personal decision are even worse live in person
Let's leave personal stuff out of it.

Context, as usual, matters.

If Gallant were a reputable coach, he would see which lines/players were doing well and not doing well and act accordingly.

Yes, it's more than fair to say his coaching cost us this game because he didn't put us in the best position to win.

You watched the same game we did. Surely, you saw what happened. Are you defending his decision to take the best line off the ice at the end of the game in favor of players that were turning the puck over and did nothing 5v5? What's the reasoning here? Then OT happened. LOL.

Time to call a cab
The team is 88-48-14 under Gallant including last years playoffs and a trip to the ECF. How much better do you think this roster would be under a different coach? I think many would be disappointed in the results if that happened. This isn't the '84 Oilers. This is coming from a guy who has criticized him in the past and is basically neutral but doesn't see how they would have a much better record with a different coach.

Cullye: you guys sitting for long stretches, does this happen often?

Kid Line: yes

Cullye: have you talked to Coach about it?

Kid Line: he doesn't talk to us. We communicate through paper tacked on the board

Cullye: interesting. Very interesting.

omg hahahahaa

They have a Norris winner, a vezina winner, a Hart winner they get half effort from, a top all around center and a 50 goal winger. Not to mention 1st round draft picks of ours throughout the lineup. We would’ve killed to have any of those guys in the Henrik era. Gallant is not getting enough out of this team. We should at minimum be 1st in the metro when you look at the teams from a talent perspective.

Watching Stars/Canes late in third with under a minute and Wyatt Johnston on the ice. Controls the puck almost scores on a nice wrap around. Who would have thought giving a 19 year old ice time late in the game he's been playing well in.

oh and guess what Necas ends it. So nice to see young players getting chance to make a difference.

I think he has been playing PP2 more than he used to but to expect Panarin, Mika, and Kreider to not play the majority of the time on the PP is just silly and to make a big deal out of because the coach actually talks about it is even sillier.

On Matt Painter's radio show a caller asked him what goes into his lineup decisions. He recalled a few years ago when they started the season 6-5 and all the noise he heard was that he HAD TO reduce Grady Eifert's minutes. Eifert was a guy who previously rode the bench for 3 years. In this, his senior year, he would go on to play 25 mpg and average 5 ppg. VERY modest production. But in Painter's mind Eifert was the LAST guy who deserved to have his minutes reduced. He was doing everything asked of him.

The moral: Message boarders aren't coaches and points schmoints.

Edit: unless you think Painter should be fired too.

88-48-14 with Shesterkin having a season for the ages.

With an average goalie, we don't sniff that record.

At what point does Panarin stop getting a pass for his ATROCIOUS season he's having?

Don't let his PPG stats fool you.

A deep dive shows he had 12 points in the first 6 games of the season.

That leaves him with 38 points in the 43 games since.

He's had 4 games of 3 points, 2 games of 4 points. That's 20 points in 6 games. 3 of those games were against Chicago, Anaheim and Arizona.

That leaves him with 30 points in the other 43 games.

The eye test is even worse.

Gonna be fun when Laf takes an offensive zone penalty on Friday and gets scratched the next game
You know this is true. What irks me most (and I'm sure many on here) is that we are literally well past the midway point of the season and finally we see some legit glimpses of high skill/high confidence in Laf (and the trio playing together) and we don't see them as much as we should see them down the stretch of this game.
