Vegas is almost as bad as Chicago.
Shit, I forgot that they have sucked, still let him have two games to see if him and muzzin can work better

just assumed they were good cuz of the last 5 years or so

Few Notes, I thought this was Marner’s best game. He actually looked engaged tonight and was on a mission.

JT needs to get his head out of his ass. Not loving Matthews (he needs to face more criticism), especially on the PP.

Nylander is a beast and Campbell is our backbone

Matthews did something that I haven't seen a Leafs D-man do in the last 3 to 4 years

Angry Matthews = Good Matthews

Proof:

I was shitting in Campbell at the start of this game. But he was stellar after the 1st, absolutely robbed the blackhawks multiple times

Seems like a trade may need to happen....

Yeah I think at this point I'd take Menell or Biega or something to get up, play Dermott a lot more.

I don't know man but as someone that actually likes Holl, he's been putrid lately. He seems out of shape. Muzzin seems like he's just broken physically too.

Something needs to be done here. I'm not saying get rid of Holl. I still believe he's an NHL d man but shouldn't be a stable in the bottom pair nevermind top 4. When Jack Han who is a supporter of Keefe doesn't like it, you know it's a problem. Muzzin had his best game with Liljegren beside him, run it out for 2-3 games and see what happens.

How can this happen?

The most important point about a young defenseman is he has to play. Do not scratch him, play him! Play him here or in the minors.

The organization has to develop its talent. Liljegren should be playing, somewhere, anywhere.

But, that also speaks volumes about the current state of the Leafs.

Keefe is filling in the lineup card and coaching for his job, perhaps not just his.

:help:

Matthews laughing at the frat dbag who was giving them the finger is f***ing hilarious.

Will be high drama to see what the Leafs do with this game. If they can get their heads on right with the monkey off their back (mixed metaphor) and string together some wins, find a higher gear - good. If not I guess it will be a random sloppy win against a bottom feeder in a series of ups and downs. Up to them.

Well that's probably because I watched this full game for once and the Leafs did not win 2 of 3 periods. I'll even go as far as saying they played even in the second and the third was also a crapshoot. Campbell LITERALLY kept Chicago from winning this game multiple times. And yeah I get that is what a goalie is supposed to do. But not when you are playing Chicago. Not on multiple man alone in front shots and a clear 1 on zero breakaway during your own PP.

In overtime the blackhawks came in with 2 guys fully covered and actually ended up with both players alone in front of Cambpell. This is something we should be proud of?

Most NHL forwards will get beat clean on the outside after being out for 40 seconds. 38 accelerates as soon as he crosses the red line. Nylander stood no chance. He finds himself in that position 0-1 times a year he's not trained for it and rarely back pedals in this fashion.

I like how you selectively leave out Nylander was still able to keep him on the outside long enough for Campbell to be able to cut off the rest. Doesn't even have enough room any more to feed Jones for the open net. Campbells stick would have blocked it. You will see this 0.5 seconds after from where you paused it.

The Leafs look like Cole Trickle from Days of Thunder after the big wreck. Just scared and sabotaging themselves just to get out of there as soon as possible.

All it takes is one moment and the team starts to play hockey again. They really started to compete tonight.

I like to see Matthews taking control of this team and yelling at the bench. JT is great, but he should never have been captain. To quiet. Too timid. Teams reflects JT's personality.

I have to say it feels good to be in the win column again. Few things about tonight: Muzzin and Holl were both still horrendous. I don't think Holl has had a single game where he's been above a 45% xgf. He's just abysmal and belongs nowhere near an NHL roster right now. Matthews had a bad night. His passes and decision making in the offensive zone were off. Marner was our best player today by a landslide. He was magnificent imo. Nylander was quiet but good, Kampf was unbelievable. Oh and Seth Jones actually sucks balls. I don't know what happened but he is basically Ristolainen with a better reputation. Just an abysmal defensive player and he makes a lot of needlessly risky plays.
Jones is over rated

It is attitudes like your that let the team continue to suck. If more fans were pissed off they might actually make some changes - fire Spreadsheet, fire Keefe, make a trade, or whatever.
Some posters are under the impression MGMT doesn't listen to the fans. Go figure.

Campbell is the duct tape that's holding our disastrous D together.

He's gonna be another Freddy if they don't shape the f*** up soon.

Matthews was great tonight, he's a helluva player. Really happy to see Marner get a couple of points, should do wonders for his confidence. And that Tavares goal was perhaps the best part of the game, really tired of everyone dumping on the guy who's been good for about a point per game ever since he arrived in town and is a class act to boot. Yeah it was just Chicago but doesn't matter, NHL teams are good and every win counts. Hopefully they'll now be able to shake off everything that's been weighing them down and move forward with renewed positive energy.

If serious fans come in the way by mocking somebody's name with spreadsheet, then I will take being the other fans.
You should know Dubas doesn't use spreadsheets to make decisions, but we need to be better fans?

Okay buddy.
