Matthews did something that I haven't seen a Leafs D-man do in the last 3 to 4 years

Angry Matthews = Good Matthews

Proof:

I saw that during the game and thought that’s why they don’t do more of that. Very weak.

Maybe the reason they don’t battle for pucks isn't lack of will or desire but lack of physical strength ?

Really happy to see Marner get a couple of points, should do wonders for his confidence
He got 1 point tonight. No clue why the scoresheet guy flashed a Marner assist on Kampf's goal. But Marner was beastly tonight nonetheless. Truth be told it's fine if he has a down year, just show up big for the playoffs and he'll win the fans back.

A win is a win and we shouldn’t critique wins but holy cow how do Muzzin and Holl start with such a lack of urgency in a statement game. Matthews was pissed at the lollygagging of Holl on several plays.

Some posters are under the impression MGMT doesn't listen to the fans. Go figure.
You could make a case Dubas listened to the fans by going after grit last off season, and what happened in the playoffs?
Hopefully Dubas builds a team his way and not falling for public pressure. It might be too late for him though.

It would be actually awesome if he got fired, and in his ending speech he said "I listened to Leafs fan and we are now here. This is on you guys why I don't have a job".

If serious fans come in the way by mocking somebody's name with spreadsheet, then I will take being the other fans.

Can you say that again, but in something approximating actual English this time?

You should know Dubas doesn't use spreadsheets to make decisions

So the analytics geek doesn't use analytics? Does he just talk about them because he thinks it makes him sound good? Is it the same as why he wears fake glasses?

Not appreciating beating the worst team in the league by the skin of their teeth and looking bad while doing it = not appreciating a Cup win. Way to extrapolate to that conclusion.

You remember the Vietnam war and the moon landings? I don’t. That was the last time the Leafs sniffed a cup.
The next human moon landing is planned for 2024. If that is the year Leafs sniff the cup again, I'm all for it.

Love to see it

Getting these two back to their 16/17 chemistry would be lethal combo. I hope they're given a long leash to find it especially since it's obvious Matthews still isn't quite ready yet.

Two rookies with top 5 even strength scoring right out of the gate for a significant sample size. It's shocking this wasn't the duo they tried to force feed chemistry the last 2 years. They were too young and raw to maintain it for a full 82 games back then. They're bigger and stronger today.

They don't check forums like this, as someone stupidly claimed earlier today, but they will certainly listen to boos from the stands, people chucking jerseys, etc.

Dubas may know more than 99% of any one fan. Just like the game show where the contestant can ask the audience for help. The audience is always correct. I would take the opinion consensus opinon of thousands of fans over any one person.

Give credit to Nylander. He is turning into a real good player.

I have not watched many games since the Babcock era, probably less than 5.

Of those games, Nylander is always doing something right.

I thought Nylander was lazy as sin tonight. Typical fly by, decided he wouldn’t back check quite more than few times that led to scoring chances, hardly tried to stop the play in OT.
He wasn’t alone. Campbell was good but I didn’t see a skater that played anywhere close to good enough.

If you don't understand it, thats on you.

If you did research, you would know analytics is just a resource he uses and many do. Hurricanes are a great organization and are further along then the Leafs there. Should we call them SpreadsheetCanes? You aren't even knowledgable on this and your calling others out? So yeah I'm happy being the other fan.
You mocking his appereance tells me a lot too.

I see they only listen to fans at the game and are oblivious to others. Got it. Did I call you names?

People with high IQ think about ideas, and debate ideas to find the truth, whether it fits their opinions or not. People with average IQ think about people, and attacking people thinking a bigger ego makes your opinions correct.

Have a good season

Well yes. More people equals more chances to have somebody smarter. I agree with you but I just find it funny Dubas goes aggressively after grit after he got criticized in hockey circles.

management does care about fans, but they don’t make decisions based on fans. No organization does that. No smart GM does that. So yes fans don’t matter when it comes to player personnel. It’s actually funny that some fans think they have any sway on that at all. A bit delusional actually.

You couldn't. I mean you tried to, but you really couldn't. You just wanted to blame the fans instead of the players and management is all.
