Post-Game Talk: Leafs win.

Well im the opposite because I didnt need that.

They didnt deserve to win this game and didnt deserve a point. They played the first period like they normally play it.....they don't. Followed by sporadic bursts mingled with absolute god awful play against the worst organization in hockey. This just means they get to continue to limp forward in complete disarray. This was an awful win.

we won 2 out of 3 periods plus the OT, outshot them by something like 40 to 30 and you think yhe Hawks should have won. Nice!

I have to say it feels good to be in the win column again. Few things about tonight: Muzzin and Holl were both still horrendous. I don't think Holl has had a single game where he's been above a 45% xgf. He's just abysmal and belongs nowhere near an NHL roster right now. Matthews had a bad night. His passes and decision making in the offensive zone were off. Marner was our best player today by a landslide. He was magnificent imo. Nylander was quiet but good, Kampf was unbelievable. Oh and Seth Jones actually sucks balls. I don't know what happened but he is basically Ristolainen with a better reputation. Just an abysmal defensive player and he makes a lot of needlessly risky plays.

Seth Jones was never good, might have been one of the most over-rated players ever. He was always a great PROSPECT, at no point in his career was he a good D-man. He's still young though.

I was happily surprised by Mitch, great response to all the roasting. I'm still not laying off him until I see it consistently, one good game against the worst team in the league isn't enough. Hopefully we can build momentum off this win, you could see the emotion/passion when Willy scored, these guys care, now just play like it for a full 60+

The way the Wings are playing, even though they play the Panthers on Friday, they will dominate the game Saturday if the Leafs play like they did tonight.

Yup. Honestly this kind of win was more important then beating them 7-0 or something. It put their character to the test down early. They came through for one game.

Yeah except which part of your awesome story is reality? Because 17 years of no series win, and 54 years of not even a CUP final is what makes fans toxic. Leafs BARELY and Luckily win an absolutely atrocious game against an absolutely abysmal club and organization and it's time to celebrate. wtf Maybe if we expect better and show them that we expect better they might actually get better instead of yearly participation medals in April.
