Line performance today:

Knies/Matthews/Marner: 54.89 xGF%
Bertuzzi/Domi/Nylander: 20.51 xGF%
Robertson/Tavares/McMann: 89.70 xGF%
Holmberg/Kampf/Reaves: 80.59 xGF%
I know people are saying they love Domi there, but I do not like his game. Brutal in his own zone lately and not generating enough for his linemates. I mean, Bert and Willy were invisible through 2 periods and only stood out without him it felt.

I like Domi. Overall, JT is considerably better, despite his slowness. In a critical moment, I do NOT want Domi on the ice.

Solid Win.

Matthews making a strong argument for his second Hart Trophy. Just so dominant.
I think because of the size of the Toronto market and the sheer number of media here, he has probably already locked it up.

The d man never had control.
That’s an assist.
Dude we have shots deflecting off the defenders shin pads and they take an assist from Matthews and say unassisted cause possession changed. Everyone and I mean everyone is shafting the Leafs in some way.

McMann channeled his inner Hyman effort on that empty netter. Love his tenacity lately. The offensive breakout has really rejuvenated his legs and confidence out there.

Like him in the top 6 .. might suit Tavares and Nylander well since he could that line more speed compared to Bert and improve forechecking

Try this when we're healthy:

McMann-Matthews-Marner
Knies-Domi-Nylander
Robertson-JT-Bert
Holmberg-Kampf-Jarnkrok

Rielly-Liljegren
Benoit-McCabe
Rifai-Brodie
Gio
I like it but need to find a lineup where Brodie can play his natural side LD. He’s struggled playing RD opposite Rielly for about a year now.

Ran these numbers yesterday and they seem to make sense. Don't understand why we would want to break up a dominant top 9 combination this season.

Knies/Matthews/Marner line 5v5 this season:
Shot Differential: 58.39%
High Danger Chance Differential: 59.45%
Expected Goal Differential: 57.16%
Goal Differential: 68.51%

Bertuzzi/Tavares/Nylander line 5v5 this season:
Shot Differential: 56.43%
High Danger Chance Differential: 63.18%
Expected Goal Differential: 60.16%
Goal Differential: 57.90%

Robertson/Domi/Jarnkrok(once he gets healthy) line 5v5 this season:
Shot Differential: 62.25%
High Danger Chance Differential: 58.14%
Expected Goal Differential: 54.76%
Goal Differential: 60.31%

Gregor/Kampf/McMann line 5v5 this season:
Shot Differential: 51.05%
High Danger Chance Differential: 40.33%
Expected Goal Differential: 49.03%
Goal Differential: 54.98%

Holmberg/Reeves on the outside.

I think Domi was given the 2nd line center for payback for having a couple of strong games lately but he's not top 6 material on this team IMO. Would be surprised if he isnt back to the third line next game and Tavares back in as one of the more effective 2nd lines in hockey this year.

I remember that play too.
The d man kicked it.
That’s why there was no assist.

Holmberg in for Tavares.
