Knocking on wood but the "Montreal has better depth" argument was always BS. Having a bunch of guys that could play on a good teams 2nd or 3rd line but no true first liners was always a recipe for disaster and just sounded like an excuse for the Habs' lack of elite talent. Their D is getting exposed too. "Big and tough" but can't move the puck for shit and the most that toughness has done is result in Matthews chuckling.

I'll never understand why the Leafs depth was just ignored compared to Montreal. I guess the media narrative has to be something so that's what they did. Like how Caufield has been bigged up all series, need something positive to say for Montreal.

If we beat out MTL and then WPG we truly claim the kings of the north title (both regular season and playoffs). Probably no Canadian team will be able to claim that title for quite a while. That is sooo amazing!

Moving forward, I would love for one of our slogans to be "Winter's coming" - it just has that allusion to a sense of terror that is about to come at you. I want the American teams to sense and fear the ominous power of The Toronto Maple Leafs. The true Kings of the North.

That and I think the "We the north" should stay with the raptors.

My favorite is the ubiquitous "just hit Matthews and Marner they're so soft." Like lmao what you don't think pro hockey players haven't thought of that approach? You can try, for sure. You're probably not going to succeed, but you can try.

The Good: The 2 line have really upped their game in making up for the absence of the captain. Kerfoot was running that line like a 327 L84 sucking back Hi-Octane runs a Nova. Keep it going Will, it's like he's a whole new player. The 3 line completely dominated when given ice time, so much speed, so much physicality. The Olden Golden Boys are playing their best hockey of the year and are chipping in with regularity and spending lot's of time in the Canadiens zone. It'll be scary once the 1 line starts clicking, hopefully they explode on Thursday. Jack had to come up big a few times and he definitely did but his defence was as responsible for the SO as he was., I couldn't find any fault in any of the D, they were all positionally sound and made excellent decisions.

The Bad: Not much, really everyone was doing their part, any bad was wearing stripes. if you want to keep the whistle in your pocket, keep it in for both sides, just sayin!

The Ugly: Although I didn't watch the CBC/SN broadcast I heard it was close to being insufferable. Honest to god frig off with the PC nonsense, I'm here to watch hockey and get away from all that whining and crying BS, we get it, we really do, now just STFU and get on with the game.

It happened a couple years ago to Morgan Rielly when people falsely accused him of saying "Homophobic Slur" to a referee.
