That sound you just heard is the ship sailing away for Seth Jones. Dude is going to the Stars now.

What is up with our pro scouting, GM and coaching disconnect? Tossing away Parsinnen this early just doesn't make any sense.
The pro scouting department has fallen off a cliff this past year. CDH, Kylington, Brannstrom, Kelly, Mitts, Parssinen...all abject failures.

I have been saying it for a while now - it is so incredibly obvious CMac and Bednar are not on the same page whatsoever.

This is not a Jared Bednar-style player we are acquiring.

Parssinen shockingly was but Bednar HATED him for some reason
Interestingly enough, Bednar and CMac had a convo after or during the 4Nations. This is where they likely hashed out which players Bednar doesn’t want or like.

But there’s definitely some disconnect here.

Feels like Avs might flip Lingren and Vesey for something else because with the way Kylington has played lately, he’s better than Lingren as the 3rd pair LD, and we don’t really have room or need for 4th line winger like Vesey. There is gotta be more to this

Maybe we flip them to NYR for Parsnip, a 2nd, and a 4th?

I want to see what Lindgren does here before calling it a complete L.

The Avs didn’t give a shit about the underlying numbers with JJ, looks like they’re taking the same approach here.

The Avs obviously view Lindgren as a rock solid bottom pair guy, who can move into the top-4 when injuries hit. That’s not where his game is at, so it’s a risk. I guess they didn’t want to pay the assets for a more sure thing.

Still hope they make a move for a top-6 forward.

I’m a Rangers fan and I can tell you that Lindgren is definitely better than De Haan.

Lindgren was asked to play big minutes with Fox and that is not the right spot for him. I see him as more of a very good #5, who can play the #4 spot due to injuries .

My question is what will Colorado do with all their D now?

When healthy im assuming this?
Toews - Makar
Gerard - Manson
Lindgren - Kylington?

Then you still have:
Malinski
Middleton
Poolman

Which of the 3 stays? What happens to other 2?

I've got a more contrarian opinion, I guess.

I don't care about the price. Mantha and Wennberg each were traded for 2nd+4th last deadline. You either pay up, or do nothing.

As for Lindgren, not my first choice, but not a shock Colorado targeted him. The Rangers are collectively a horrible analytics team and Lindgren was playing nearly 20 minutes a night. If he gets Manson minutes (18:12), IMO he's going to raise the floor of the defense a lot. Lindgren's a warrior and willing to lay it all on the line in the playoffs. Vesey is just a NAK/Sturm type who can add some jam to the 4th line when injuries strike.

I can tell you one thing, it's not going to be Poolman.

There’s no flipping Lindgren.
He’s a defensive defenseman who’s all heart and will sacrifice his body to win.

Poolman is dead, LTIRetired

Nobody can convince me there isn’t a huge disconnect between CMac and Bednar.

We gave up a 3rd for Parssinen just 2.5 months ago and Bednar never really liked him. Never gave him a fair shot or chance. Couldn’t wait to scratch him once Val was back.

Now we dump him for a brutal impending UFA.

2nd, 3rd(Parssinen), and 4th for the carcass of Lindgren for 20 regular season games and whatever we do in the playoffs.

I can’t f***ing believe this.
100% this. Goaltending is another obvious giveaway for a disconnect. Had CMac known Bednar was never going to give Annunen a fair shot, he proably would've acquired a backup during the summer. He actually tried to give Bednar options with Kähkönen, and Bednar said f*** that with him too. So eventually CMac just traded away both goalies so he couldn't go with Georgiev again.

We know how much the Avs value RHD on the right, and LHD on the left, so where does this leave us?

LHD - Toews, Girard, Kylington, Lindgren
RHD - Makar, Manson (injured), Malinski

Poolman is done. LTIR, probably never play again.

Middleton will go back to Loveland once Manson is healthy.

Kylington will likely be the 6th-7th D.
