If not for anything else I can say we won and that game got a lot of things rolling. First W for mrazek, marner/Tavares line looked very good for a pretty good chunk of the game, and I’ve thought this all along (as in giving them
A look, maybe not together but I’ll take it) but that Sandin-liljegren pairing looked quite good. Sometimes it’s not about the teams you beat but just about the way it got put together that turns stuff around

Lilly and Sandin looking good, as expected. Our D is set with them for a while. Good thing is that we alrady have other good D prospects for the next years with Niemela, Kral and Kokkonen.

Inserting forward prospects Amirov, Steeves, Robertson will be the next step.

Ugly game. Marner and Kerfoot were good, Sandy and Lilly looked decent together, and Mrazek looked shaky.

Mrazek or Hutchinson take your pick. If its Hutchinson, Wow, Just Wow
Lol don't put words in my mouth. I never said I'd take Hutchinson over Mrazek. I simply said Mrazek sucks. That doesn't mean I'd pick Hutchinson over him. They both suck.

Get the big guys going.

We need that momentum right now.

And we need Muzzin to get some pep in his step if we're going to achieve anything this season.

Just finished watching the game. Not bad against a team that has been doing well early on in the season.

I particularly liked the powerplay goal with Michael Bunting being in the right spot and Jason Spezza having his eye on him all the time. Also Nick Ritchie's first point as a Maple Leaf.

Very impressed by John Tavares showing what hard work can accomplish. Interesting that Nylander has been invisible 5 on 5 since being moved away from Tavares, while Marner is clearly showing glimpses of his own self.

In general I hope the back-to-back-wins help the team gain some confidence going into an interesting week.

I think I cracked some of the matrix codes

We’ve been crapping on JT, Marner and Kerfoot and they decided to show up

Time to start crapping on Matthews and Nylander

It’s the only way peeps!!!

;)

It’s funny how a lot of posters stop posting after we win lol
No people are still posting but if they simply say Detroit a garbage team we barely beat them and 50,000 little minions attacking them for just Stating the facts this board is so childish it isn’t funny

No the childish thing is the fake leaf fans on here trolling people it’s ok to have a opinion but negative after negative posts it’s quite sad

Interesting game. Too soon to make big conclusions about how the core is performing with this line configuration except that I like Marner where he is. Tavares and Kerfoot rocked with him on the line and if he can elevate 2 players at some expense to Matthews, it's worth it. Best case scenario is that Matthews finds a bit more chemistry with Willy than we found in this game.
With respect to non core players, Spezza is playing with 2 anchors. I'm praying that Ho-Sang continues his scoring pace with the Marlies and moves up with the Leafs in the new year. I can totally see him play on willys line on the right, shifting willy to the left, where he adds some intriguing added dimensionality. This frees up Bunting as a much needed LW replacement down the lineup.
I liked Lili and Sandin. Keep them.
Muzzin wasnt strong but better without Holl.

Spezz and Simmonds looked good together before Ritchie was moved there, he’s utterly useless.

That’s always the objective this time of year.
