Funny how everyone seems to ignore how the leafs got out shot by the Sens in the first game and then went and out shot them 40 to 19 this game and act like goaltending was the big difference that game... lol
they seem to ignore a lot of things like how the f*** do you give up 2 breakaways on the same pp

and it's funny some keep going on about how we didn't have a real training camp or any exhibition games so you should expect sloppy play but then turn around and blame the goalie because he should be in mid season form and should be standing on his head every game

People need to slow down on handing Campbell the keys to the kingdom.
He had what? 19 shots against? If anything, his toes got cold in that game. Hutchinson may have won that one.

sometimes teams play different in front of different tenders

maybe it takes soup in net to get the lads to play a better game

now it's a higher number of chances against , lol , fact is we gave up no where near the quality chances Sat night as we did Fri
"Let in fewer" was my quote, no?

Fact is, they all seem like chances when they're going in at the rate we saw. Hell, a bad angle strong side shot off the post felt like a chance because he was off his angle.

i couldn't give a damn about these very flawed shot attempt stats nor how the team was with Babs but i do want to know the last time the Leafs played above avg team D l?
What's your measure if you don't believe in the stats and struggle to interpret the visuals?

So no hockey or hockey? wtf is the discussion here... jesus.

Just be grateful we are privileged enough to watch f***ing hockey on our tvs during a pandemic.

Why are we talking about variety of games.

I feel like people forget what country they live in and how lucky many of us are... and we're complaining about this shit... really.

You really need to think about what you're saying when you're complaining... and yeah its been a couple pages now. Get over it.
DITTO!

Played well but the score was much too close, all it took was another couple of bad bounces and they could have fumbled this game away as well.
I’ll give Ottawa credit though, what they have they use well, and I know it’s early but I like the look of Murray.

I’m curious of how much rope Joe’s goal got him with Leaf Nation, seems to be a consensus on the game day thread prior to him scoring that he needs to be moved down the line up?

fact is,,,if your linemates make a combined 22.5 million per

giving a damn about the 3rd guy is pointless,

,for that money, 3rd guy should be elevated to near star status just from riding their coattails

With the Robertson injury, this is Boyd’s time to final prove he belongs in the show.

I’d actually throw him with Tavares on some shifts.

for me the saving grace was (held to 19 shots)

your really going to blame Andy for getting beat on that shot ?

- he came out to cut the angle
- the shot went wide either by mistake or a set play to the frwd who deflected it off the post due the D not tying him up and directly to other side where the Sens playing made a great shot

you still can't tell me when was the last time the Leafs played above avg D so you keep deflecting by asking a question

i very simply want to know when was the last time you believe the team played above avg D

You're thinking of different play, I'm talking about the Paul post that was an easy save a few minutes before the tying goal, which showed how off he was. Straight forward easy play where Paul's coming down the strongside wing on a proper angle and Beats Andy clean blocker side

Then about a minute later he misses an easy save that starts a scramble and allows 3 goals in a quick span after

You said you don't believe in the stats I'd reference, so we're left with he said she said.

Last I saw they were above average defensively since Keefe took over and as the teams defensive play improved our goaltending failed (including some bad backups).

Stats I'd reference are ones you don't believe in, so is there a point in referencing?

A much improved performance compared to Friday for sure and the scoreline does not reflect the match. Still a lot of room for improvement though, the game really should not have been close.

Hopefully Robertson is not hurt too bad. Spezza should start his own Face Off Academy. He and Tavares ruled the dot.
i kinda don't care what the score was at all,,,,,at alll

you hold the other team to 19 ish SOGs per game and you will do massive damage

What about Anderson’s second goal of the night, that should never leak through Andersen.

Andersen hasn’t been good to start the season, again.

Thornton just had a fantastic game. This makes no sense. It's like people decided he can't be on the top line and no matter the results won't change their opinion. He's fine there so far.

Do agree on the loading up top PP though.
38.5 % PP atm

don't change a damn thing about it.

I don't know why anyone feels the need to defend Andersen for Friday. He had a terrible game and was lucky he didn't give up a few more swimming. It was one game, he will have several chances to redeem himself.

Apparently some fans were talking about how Muzzin is going to get slaughtered next game for a cheap shot on Stutzle.

When did this happen?
He literally just pushed Stuzzle as he was skating by the net and Stuzzle dropped like a fly.

Matthews got hit far worse by Watson and Batherson literally took out the Leafs star rookie.

Hell, turn back and keep possession. Wait for the 5on5 to hit then gain the line again.

Bogo is a dog chasing his own tail, I doubt he has a leg to stand on.
one of only (2 guys?) with a cup ring

and you say he has no voice,?,,,lmfao that says more bad things about this team then you realize.

the rope bloody well be short for every player

every damn game is a 4 point game,,that's as big as it gets before POs games
At least there are some players that acknowledge bad play. Some people here think that is bad. I think it is positive. That said, it bugs me that Andy never acknowledges when he plays badly.

the 2nd goal was the tip by Tkachuk where he was standing on top of the crease while Brodie was gently massaging his ass and the puck went to the far post not through his legs
