Interesting what some late goals against will do to a fans pysche. Leafs won 4 in a row. Lost in OT to the Isles after blowing a 2 goal lead. Blow leads and get scored on within the last few mins against Colorado and the Wings. If they hang and get to OT who knows what happens. Suddenly they have points in 7 of 7 games and doesn't feel so bad. All that with a goalie who cleared waivers this year.

Leafs have won 7 of 10 against the Oilers. Canuck fans are whiny but Oiler fans are just plain scumbags. Leafs will win. McDavid will see if he can catch a ride home with the team.
I'm not looking at the results as much as I am looking at how they have been playing. The games have been close, but I don't feel they have been playing all that well, especially in the second half of games. Too loose defensively, too many turnovers. Same old really. They can tidy things up for a few games in a row, but then they undo all that good by reverting to mentally lazy hockey.

Hoping for a positive trip. Crazy we do not know what we are going to get from this team at the halfway mark of the season... or what we will get with this core eight season in lol

Based on what? Leafs have beat them 7 out of the last 10. How many games do they need to bring out their best? What you are really saying is if McDavid plays out of this world like he did last play-offs. Then sure I will give it to you. Other than that, the oilers are not a tough team to play against.
Based on the two rosters. Rielly can’t stop McDavid et al if they're playing their best game. We know the Leafs cant score when teams are dedicated to playing hockey.

Yeah I actually respect this iteration of the Oilers team. Adding Kane and Ekholm was exactly what they needed. Bouchard has been a horse for them too. What a clapper he has.

Draisaitl was on fire last post season and if it wasn't for that dirty wack from Pietrangelo on him he may have carried them to another series win. They are the most dangerous team built for the playoffs out west if you ask me. All they need is steady goaltending.

His name is on the Cup twice.

Just get a shot of JD in you and throw a few bucks on the games and you'll rekindle your passion brother. It is bleak right now seeing this collection of talent and big bucks being seemingly wasted. There's no excuse for the supporting cast players to be so unproductive. Looking at their stats is just plain ugly. Knies , Robertson , Domi and Bertuzzi should all have way better numbers based on their talent and playing with superstars. What the hell are these coaches doing.
You had me at the JD part…..

Frustrated by the hamster wheel we seem to be on.

Quickest fix is to fire Keefe, which is long overdue, but also wishing we could fast forward 2 years, for decisions to be made on Marner and Tavares, rising cap, prospect development and hopefully adding new ones.

It just feels like this is one retread after the other.

Will always love the crest on front, but really not enamoured by any names on the back, and from the top down.

We’ve been down this road far enough to know what we are: not good enough to go where we need to go, but nothing changes.

Hoping for the best, and at least we don’t have a genuinely evil bastard like Ballard to contend with.

If you could survive the Ballard years, this is easy. Would just be nice to see vision from the top, and work its way down.

Go Leafs Go!

Losing interest, to be honest.

50 years+ and never thought I’d ever say it, but they are as unlikeable collection of players that can ever remember, Keefe is hopelessly inept, and the entire organization feels like it is stuck in quicksand.

I think they lose tonight.
I know exactly how you feel, not much to inspire a Leaf fan with the game plan being half or more going to 4 forwards, at least if you had a cup as the end goal………

I think they will win all of these games and take 3 of 4 points from Winnipeg. These Western teams are overrated based on the number of points they are handed by San Jose, Anaheim and Chicago.
Of course you do, the nothing but sunshine and lollipops is getting a wee bit stale……..

Everytime I see his posts, I think of this:

With a “lame duck” president and GM the board has to be very careful what they allow them to do.
Shanahan isn’t a lame duck president as much as I’d hope he was, he’s teflon and the pain will continue……..

We will win and the players will try hard. As predictable as the sunrise. They can’t lose Keefe/Shanny and their cushy easy going lifestyle.

It's not sunshine and lollipops at all. Edmonton and Calgary are certainly no better than Toronto, and in fact no one here would ever argue that Calgary is better than Toronto. The Leafs usually play very well in both arenas. Vancouver may unquestionably be a different story, and the Leafs have a miserable record in Vancouver over the last several years. But this isn't a Leafs team that is going to fall off a cliff. In some of these games their talent will lead to wins, even if their work ethic doesn't suggest it.

But can this Leafs team hang with a healthy Vegas or Colorado in a seven game series? Not without some divine intervention.

Just have a bad feeling we get pumped tonight and it’s going to get loud in here.

They're like lazy warehouse workers who start working when the supervisor is checking in for a few days and once the heat is off...they go back to playing cards.

I liked the Marner line from last game, would've been nice to keep it together. Not sure what the point of last games exercise was if we weren't going to use it for an extended period of time. One game isn't enough

I would be way more concerned if the back to back with Winnipeg was now. Games against Edmonton and Calgary are ones where you can make mistakes and still win, because both Edmonton and Calgary are going to make a ton of mistakes as well. I expect tonight's game to be pretty sloppy. Lots of mistakes on both sides and probably lots of goals.

You expect quite a few things that never end up happening.
