He's a politician...not surprising to me. I wish the board would talk to literally any hockey guy out there to tell them how hoodwinked they have been by that guy. Maybe Chelios has some free time?

Why not just move on from being a Leaf fan if you're unhappy? Follow another team or do something else with your time. You can always come back to the Leafs again if you think they've changed enough to make you happy again.

i honestly don't understand people continually being unhappy about pthe Leafs and constantly whining about it online. If you're unhappy because you're following the Leafs, stop following the Leafs. It's that simple.

Personally, I think the constant negativity on these boards have driven away most of the sensible and rational Leafs fans. All I see left are a bunch of unhappy people, many of whom I suspect have some kind of a hole in their life that they think something trivial like cheering for a team tha wins a Stanley Cup is going to fill.

Shanahan has done a lot right. The fact that we have 3x guys in their 20s primed to rank 1, 2, 3 in franchise scoring on a 100+ year franchise tells you he's laid a foundation virtually no one has since the Original Six.

But... a lot has also gone wrong for them to be at a major crossroads in this era's history.

It is remarkable to realize that in a 100 year history, the entire record book of this franchise is going to be re-written by Matthews, Marner, Nylander and Rielly.
 
Connor Brown will score a couple and will also fight Gio. Hyman with a goal and two assists. Ex Leafs night is guaranteed.

Winning a cup would be fun. But if it doesn't, it doesn't. It's always a distinct possibility that a team can go 80-100 years without a championship or that they might never win one. Fans should not be surprised when it turns out to be their team.

Imagine if they were Sabres fans! The notion that "well we tanked 8 years ago so we deserve to be so much better" is a peculiar one tbh. A lot of bad teams with high picks out there. It could definitely be worse, though you'd never think so reading this board.

Is anyone else tired of these "ex-Leaf is going to score tonight" posts? They just feel lazy.

That being said, it would be interesting to see if ex-Leafs really do score more against the Leafs than other ex-players do against their former teams, but I'm not sure anyone has the time to do that kind of study. But as I say, without any kind f statistical support, these poss feel lazy.
