Why does Holl deserve to be in? He sucks under pressure. Did you see Holl in Game 6 OT against Bolts what he was doing when point scored? Or the interference penalty in Game 7 when JT scored and goal was called off?

Holl completely SUCKED in the entire playoffs against the bolts last season. Here is Keefe defending Holl when everyone media+fans saw how much Holl was sucking
(I'll link the video if i find it. Keefe was being a snob answering that question in the media)

And here is Holl after Keefe's comments in Game 6 look at how that JACKASS goes to defend a bad angle shot while leaving the slot unprotected -> His job as a D-man

All I see here is the hockey gods working their black magic against us.

MATTHEWS with a CLEAR breakaway to end it in OT and he f***ing TRIPS/FALLS over HIMSELF and boom goal the otherway.

Luck has to be on our side for once to win.

Acciari - 244 hits - 10th in the NHL
McCabe - 163 hits - 65th in the NHL
ZAR - 163 hits - 65th in the NHL
Holl - 151 hits - 83rd in the NHL
Lafferty - 125 hits - 126th in the NHL
Go post this in the "Whos the softest team in the playoffs" thread because they kicked me out and banned me from that thread for saying the Leafs are no where near the softest team in the playoffs.

Buttercups over there. You got leafs haters talking out of their ass all day but when a leafs fan wants to defend it...I get a warning

Yup. I checked out that thread and I will forget about it. It’s sucks the mainboards are so incompetently moderated. Until they flush the crap down the drain and allow mature adults to moderate the mainboards it will always be a joke.

I like the lineup, except I would rather Jarnkrok and Bunting swapping places -- We saw how well Jarnkrok worked on the first line. We see how Bunting gets called by refs. I can foresee our first line player (Bunting) going to the box consistently.

I mean, I am sure Keefe will swap the lines around as it seems to be his new MO. So I am sure we will see Jarnkrok on the first at some point.

Keefe is gonna live or die by his guys at this point, and Holl is one of his guys to the core.

In addition to what seems like a petty emotional approach(with regards to Bunting) by the officials to penalizing players i'm equally concerned about how opponents are allowed to take liberties with Bunting which take him completely out of the play without consequence to themselves. It effects the entire lines ability in both zones and exacerbates an already unnecessary disadvantage.

Yes, like the example the other night where three players jumped I think JT. Bunting gets involved, and he is the only one assessed a penalty.

I am curious how they will call him in the POs. Historically, POs are very low in penalties. But knowing the Leafs' luck, Bunting is probably getting 3 penalties in game 1 lol.

Made a small table for the mods or the OP so it can help out the mods.

All we can ask for is the officials to put their obvious bias aside. Doesn't seem like they have a problem with other Leafs but Bunting is on Reeves level when it comes to reputation based calls against.

If we're lucky whatever "debt" the refs had Bunting paying is over and he's got a clean slate for the playoffs. But given how thin skinned and vindictive the zebras are I'm not holding my breath. There oughtta be a prop bet on which player will get the first penalty on the series. Bunts would have the highest odds.

Pretty sharp looking lines. The first line is proven to work. ROR on the 2nd line makes it more dynamic. They will probably both get lots of minutes. Good spread of grit on lines 3-4 with Acciari taking Kampf's spot on line #3. Both lines will be physically involved. I think part of the reason ZAR will get the nod on Knies in game #1 is his physicality. Knies hasn't shown he can clobber guys yet at the NHL level, he's shied away from that aspect so far, where someone like ZAR will be up for that challenge right away.

The defense does look pretty good as well. Obviously, Liljegren being the #7 guy again is kind of sad. This is just a deep veteran squad on the back end and his competition is a human eraser or your PK ice time leader. The Leafs are betting on experience in game #1. I like all the pairs, probably the best they could do.
Dubas picked up the right guys and shipped out who I would have an impressive deadline really.

Keefe is starting the same players I would.

This playoffs will feel right.

They gotta take at least 2 of the first 4, and at least 1 of game 3 or 4.

A series ain't over before you lose at home. If the Leafs go up 2-0 and Tampa comes back 2-2, they've stolen all the momentum. Heck, even a 1-1 split at each venue would be preferable. Up 3-1? Then they've really got a chance.
When was the last time the Leafs went up 2-0 in a series?

Was it Ottawa?

I guess it would be easy to google

O'Reilly, Acciari and Lafferty up front. Schenn, Gustavson and McCabe on defense. That seems like six players or 30%. Of course, my math skills are not great.
I doubt Gustavsson plays to start.

You thinking Schenn sucked for 15 games is the real problem here?

It's not always about points, He's been solid and brings a very useful element that we lacked, Schenn is what Boosh should of been. Also Schenn doesn't just wrestle people to the ground when the other team gets angry or forces you to answer the bell, Schenn will try to punch your face in and lands checks to hurt you (legally) and other teams know this. They're similar type player but with 2 different intents in how they play... Schenn is someone to keep an ice on when he's on the ice and know that if you get hit by him and want to fight him, it's not likely to be a good time, where as Nobody was afraid of Boosh's "grab and hold you tight until refs break it up or you both fall" type of response. Schenn is also great at net clearing where in playoffs everyone's trying to fight to screen your goalie.

Liljegren had his opportunity to secure his spot in the line up, but for what ever reason started to make a lot of bad decisions in his play near the end of the season when intensity was turned up. He's a better player than last year but experience is a thing. He'll get a few games in for sure, but you need Schenn on the roster Game 1 to set the tone like he did with Maroon a few weeks ago, especially when teams want to bully the Leafs, he gives us a meaner look on the back end and the guy you want during scrums around the net.

IMO it should be Gio-Lilly instead of Holl but Keefe trusts Holls PK ability more

Holl had been the most effective against physical player all year long and he was one of best d in the entire NHL against the rush... he deserved to be in...

Lilly will still grow up and will have his shot as full time regular next post-season or jump in in case of injury like byram did last post-season

It's insane how Holl looked like he wanted to try and play the puck when the only desperation play there would have been to launch Point into the net.
