I'm a bit worried about Michael Bunting and how he will be officiated these playoffs. Refs have it out for him and every PP we give to them is one too much. Bunting's game isn't as effective without the agitating part and I feel the zebras will target him.

I just don't want the zebras to be a story at all these playoffs. They officiated very poorly last year.
He just needs to keep his cool. Guys like Perry and Maroon are 100% going to try to get him to retaliate into a penalty - he's a better player than them both and needs to walk the line and not get sucked into the nonsense.

Hate Tampa like no one else
Rooting for you guys
They WILL run your goalie
It was discussed on their board
They are that dirty
Will do anything to win fair or not
Whats the back up plan ? Is Murray available?

He’s mostly kept his cool for the past few weeks. The refs have still been shitting on him. That penalty in Tampa was simply embarrassing.

He needs to quit it on the diving. Refs are clearly not going to call anything if there’s even a hint that he went down easy. Do everything you can to stay on your feet, if they keep coming after you, you’ll get the call. Even that Perry crosscheck. It was a shitty move that should have been called, but if we’re being objective, he fell down like a sack of potatoes.

They’re going to go after him. If he dives he won’t get calls. If he doesn’t get calls he’ll get frustrated and retaliate. Like that phantom stick swing against Perry easily could have been 2 for unsportsmanlike for Bunting alone. Don’t dive, don’t retaliate. Agitate the Lightning and let them take penalties trying to rile you up.

Not that I disagree with your points but them discussing it on their board doesn't really mean anything

Holl's generally useful in PK and defensive situations by playing his length defending, disruption game but there's diminishing returns by the time you're in crease clearing mode and he's prone to the big error that becomes lethal.
this is so untrue and its the party line on him ...along with he has a good stick.
Holl has 3 major issues that make him a HUGE liability:
1. he cannot win any one on one battles be it along the boards, or in front of the net
2. his net front positioning is usually poor, and he's typically on the wrong side to tie up the player or their stick
3. he cannot clear the puck out of the defensive zone ...at least 4 of 5 clearing attempts barely make it to the blue line, forget out of the zone.

...so, sure, he's rangy and can put his stick in the right place to discourage a cross seam pass, but, once the puck is close to the net, or he is under any sort of pressure he is useless in his won end.

He doesnt bring anything outside of his zone either, but, I dont care as much about that, except when he makes really bad pinches, which thankfully havent been as frequent lately.

the 2nd part (italics) of your statement is right on the money!!

Joseph Woll is backing up, we have more faith in him than Murray as of late - He's been great

I like the lineup, except I would rather Jarnkrok and Bunting swapping places -- We saw how well Jarnkrok worked on the first line. We see how Bunting gets called by refs. I can foresee our first line player (Bunting) going to the box consistently.

I mean, I am sure Keefe will swap the lines around as it seems to be his new MO. So I am sure we will see Jarnkrok on the first at some point.
What i want to see Bunting do, is take shots at and chirp Kutch non stop, Kutch cannot control his temper, and he'll end up taking a major if Bunting gets under his skin enough.
...if the ref's call it, is a different story though

Pretty sharp looking lines. The first line is proven to work. ROR on the 2nd line makes it more dynamic. They will probably both get lots of minutes. Good spread of grit on lines 3-4 with Acciari taking Kampf's spot on line #3. Both lines will be physically involved. I think part of the reason ZAR will get the nod on Knies in game #1 is his physicality. Knies hasn't shown he can clobber guys yet at the NHL level, he's shied away from that aspect so far, where someone like ZAR will be up for that challenge right away.

The defense does look pretty good as well. Obviously, Liljegren being the #7 guy again is kind of sad. This is just a deep veteran squad on the back end and his competition is a human eraser or your PK ice time leader. The Leafs are betting on experience in game #1. I like all the pairs, probably the best they could do.
I'd prefer an 11-7 lineup ...Schenn should not take a regular shift, he's too slow, and he'll take a bunch of holding/hooking penalties.
Penalties/Refs are the only way we lose this series (again)

Question: are car flags not a thing anymore? 20 years ago during the playoffs, I used to see lots of car flags all around the city and the suburbs. Seems like last few years barely see any.

I'm super excited for this series. I barely even hung on this season, but real meaningful games are so much more fun.

Like many, we wished we could have fast forwarded through the last 20 games of the regular season once we knew the Leafs would be in the playoffs. Its sad really because much of the enjoyment of regular season games have been diminished over time because of past playoff failures. So now for many each Leafs season really boils down to how the Leafs will do this year when the real games begin.

I'm excited as well because this is the first time the Leafs (outside of proven goaltending, although I have hope in Sammy) are going to ice a real playoff worthy roster that can stand up to the physical side of the game :fight:, unlike past years where it was like bringing a knife to a gun fight. Huge ROR fan and think he will be a difference maker.

I'm still waiting to be proven wrong, because from the very start I firmly believed you can't have long-term and ultimate playoff success by having 1/2 your roster cap cost invested in just 4 forwards and ice a Cup competitive team around them. So do the Leafs have enough secondary scoring and a Dcore and goaltending to hold up for 4 rounds. I'm still highly skeptical this is the recipe for Cup success.,

Let the playoffs begin and lets hope :crossfing "this time is different.

Murray is our third best goalie, and the most fragile. Woll will be backup if Keefe is smart, but that's sometimes a big 'if'!

People don't drive as much. Gas is crazy and many now work from home.

I don't know about that. Traffic seems as bad as ever, and speaking as someone who grew up in Mississauga/Oakville area, it's far more congested now. People are definitely driving still lol.

Probably more superstition than anything else. I'm sure the last 6 years hasn't helped.
