Nothing imaginary about the division lead thats gone is there. Ahhh it’s the goalies failt, ahhh matthews wrist has a booboo, ahhhh we are this that and the other letters/ numbers leading on adv stats. We are just through a .500 winning % month of March because they played injured goalies. The goalies will play when the Doctor says they can. Unfortunately the next game they are out for maintenance. Thats not a built in excuse for losing like you like to cozy up to.Glass is always half-empty eh? Must be exhausting to always live with some imaginary worst case scenario.
You and Zeke fancy stats listen to Ferraro and company in this if you think this is all negative. And zeke your sv% stats are trumped by this. You enjoy now Frederik Andersen in Toronto for appointment on lower-body injury - TSN.caGlass is always half-empty eh? Must be exhausting to always live with some imaginary worst case scenario.
Speed is what scares me there, Gally's skating isn't bad but I don't want any of him, Spezza or Muzzin in a foot race after a shot block or high turnover.People might be surprised how high muzzin ranks in even strength dman offense since he came to he leafs. I'd say he should be on the #2 pp for sure.
Slump = 3-0-1?
OK

Those and puck retrievals IMO.Yeah that's likely what Keefe is thinking. Also the skating part of zone entries too.
Yeah, thank goodness for that elite 5 game sample size amongst two calendar years of below average goaltending.
He's turned into Martin Jones without the playoff success. Lucky us!
This is actually a pretty good recent article about rush chances: Which Teams are Relying on the Rush?
The Leafs are pretty good at limiting rush chances in general. There isn’t anything specific about odd man rushes, but if we were allowing too many odd man rushes against, you’d think our %of rush goals against would be much worse than it is.
I posted above about the net front thing. We actually don’t allow very many shots from the slot are are better than league average (while playing in an offence heavy division).
Is there any evidence our defensmen deflect pucks into their own net at a higher rate than normal?
Don't forget not screening the goalie so much.-give up fewer odd man rushes
-improve on boxing out players in front our net
-stop deflecting pucks into out own net
1 for 21 on PP needs to change.
I'd be just as interested in overall deflections as the # that end up in our net so we could see how our goalies measure upBoxing out is less about limiting shots from the slots and more about limiting screens and deflections.
I have no idea if the amount of times our defensemen deflect pucks into their own net is at a higher rate than normal (whatever "normal" is) I would just like them to do it less as per your original question.
Power Play
8.25 expected goals for per 60 (#1)
9.80 goals for per 60 (#3)
Penalty Kill
5.47 expected goals against per 60 (#5)
.820 save percentage (#30)
8.22 goals against per 60 (#21)
with Campbell:
2.41 goals against per 60 (#1)
.941 save percentage (#1)
with Hutchinson:
7.26 goals against per 60 (#16)
.857 save percentage (#17)
with Andersen:
9.80 goals against per 60 (#29)
.786 save percentage (#31)
Don't forget not screening the goalie so much.
Basically back to my first point.. Goaltending sucks minus 6 games from Campbell
Any idea how much of that was specifically in March? I haven't been able to find a good breakdown of the specifics outside general Sv%Campbell/Hutch combined, the PK is still top ten and close to the expected ranking.
It's pretty much all Andersen on the PK.

Phone has been my limiting factor, I'm going to see what I can find for pre-March. ThanksOn my phone so not much time here but:
In March on the PK,
Campbell/Hutch = over .900 on the PK
Andersen = .720
