Totally. Earlier in the season, we had GREAT movement on our PP. Guys were flying, snapping the puck around, changing position constantly, super dynamic. Now everyone is pretty stationary and just making safe passes from the point to the half wall and back - of course we aren’t generating prime chances.

Overall, our offence is just a lot more static, safe and predictable. That has to change, our strength is high end offensive talent who play a really dynamic, fast paced, somewhat risky game with the puck. I think we have to get back to that.
It is interesting that during the beginning of the season even though the team were flying they couldn’t score as much but managed to play a very discipline lock down game.
While the last 10 games or so, they can’t score on PP and the offence is okay but yet they can’t seem to lock down game.

Tavares is playing great at a perfect time. Most importantly, he's giving the other guys the blueprint. *Stop* with the cute passes and just get the puck on the net by either shooting it from wherever or get to the front of the net.

Both teams are playing well BTW, should be a good 3rd.

We're tied with a shitty team 48 hours after the most embarassing loss of our lives.
We could be better.
Not to mention the shitty team is recuperating from a pandemic that affects their cardiovascular health.

To further emphasize this point, just take away Matthews's goals. What you get is Sabres-level suck and I'm thanking the powers that be that Tavares and Nylander are heating up.

Rielly is completely ineffective on the PP. What is he doing out there? His shot is not just putrid but he can't even get it through traffic it's so slow.
