Leafs need to start hitting. create some energy.
The fact they play so soft, is why they look lifeless half the time

Hopefully they can bring it when it matters, and hopefully Foligno fits in well because he's got all kinds of that shit. I know because I hated watching the Leafs play against him.

Nylander being a net front god is so hilariously out of the "soft European" mold that even some Leaf fans can't acknowledge it.
That's really where he's best. The only guy I might rank better on the team in that role is Matthews. Willy is a very fine net front guy when he wants to be.

I would bet a substantial sum of money he never comes close to that again. Not often you see a player decline this quickly as they age. He MUST be traded this summer.

Most of those points were secondary assists created from 16/34/88 on the PP.

Amazing what happens on the power play when you setup a guy who can actually shoot to take a shot with traffic. Next up, we should try getting that Matthews guy some shots on the power play.

Marner and Rielly aren't threats at all - at least one of them needs to be moved to PP2.

We aren’t using it effectively either. When Keefe first took over, the guy curling out would come in with huge speed, get the puck, and attack the middle of the ice. It was pretty effective, would get defences scrambling. Now guys curl out but coast back into the zone, which kills the whole point.
It's similar to our crappy PP. The high guy is pulling up for a shot, which shouldn't be the goal. Attack with speed like you said, look for a give and go downlow, instead it's a (bad) 3rd point man

Matthews and Marner struggle 5v5 against Horvat. That's why JT and Will are doing their job to not let a checking line kill our offense.

Lovin Sandin on D tonight, can't believe it's his 2nd game this year, Dermott should be nervous.
Rielly - Brodie
Muzzin - Holl
Sandin - Liljegren?
Dermott? Marincin?

one of dermott/holl is going to be a seattle kraken

I'm happy we have 2 great duos of forwards.

Either way you look at it.

Any game there is Matthews-Marner & JT-Nylander. Matthews-Nylander & JT-Marner.

If both duos get results the team likely wins.

On off night, one duo has to show up. If not then we're likely getting unreal results from bottom 6 and D.

I hope so too but the water in TO will always soften the tough guy. Look at Muz

If Bogo is out I can see Keefe keeping Sandin in and putting Dermott at RD

or Sandin with everyones favourite.... Marincin

Despite scoring on the last one, there is no doubt in my mind Sandin should be the D on PP1. he is smooth with the puck, and so smart with his decisions, and makes them quick giving the others a chance to do something with the puck when they get it.
