Wows to Woll, McCabe, and Nylander.

Congrats to Knies for his first point. Looked a bit rough, but not out of place.

If Maroon and Perry grow balls, they can be male turds.

Glad the refs called most of the crap, but we took some dumb ones too.

Glad we didn't back down from the rough stuff.

All in all, especially considering we were missing our #1 goalie and two of our three best players, we done real good.

Losing McDonagh and Palat as cap casualties is huge. On top of that Vasy has been leaky. I really hope Vasy remains VasyLeaksy for the 1st round and doesn't get his game back

Yup, been saying this for a while. McDonagh was probably the most frustrating Lightning player to play against last year. Really good comparable is Ekholm, they won't give a whole lot offensively but just monsters defensively. Playing a mean physical game, very responsible defensivley and just a rock for the 2nd pairing.

Their D core is not the same without him. Last year Sergachev and Foote got absolutely exposed and abused. Cooper was able to make the adjustment and put Sergachev next to Hedman to shelter him and it was somewhat effective. Now that they're missing McDonagh, the responsibility of holding down the 2nd pair defensively is on him, and I don't think he can do it. We know what he can provide offensively, that's not a question. But can he play a responsible defensive game ? In Tampa he will be going against ROR/JT/Nylander, in Toronto he'll probably be against Matthews/Marner, I don't think he can hang with these guys defensively.

Sergachev to me is what Oilers fans claimed Barrie was. Elite offensive D-man, great skater, great passer, has a rocket of a shot and can QB the PP at a high level. But a liability defensively. He's not quite as bad as Barrie/Gardiner are defensively, but well below average.

Get f***ed Tampa! Their whole team couldn’t beat us with our “third stringer” in and Matthews and Marner out! Schenn remains an absolute beauty.

This is why they have a chance.

High blocker……

Cooper and his minions have showed that they're going to try and goon it up and goad us into taking dumb penalties in scrums.

JT has got to stop getting rocked. 3rd time in thr last 3 months he's been levelled.

Otherwise, lol at Tampa fans complaining about reffing. When your PP goes 0/8, you might want to look internally. Those COVID Cups really messed up Lightning fans brains.

Mad respect for our penalty kill! I absolutely love watching a good PK. And the Leafs delivered on that.

And I'm officially on board with Woll. The guy's got game. I'm unusually slow to put any faith in a young goalie, and was mad critical of the ones the Leafs system has pumped out lately. But Woll is different. NHL results don't lie.

cooper is excuse guy after every loss against us lmao.
They dressed a full line up and players said they wanted to "send a message" in the pre game.

:laugh::laugh::laugh:
Is this like the only response he knows? Go all out, get helped by refs every step of the way, and then claim they weren't even trying when they lose?
And people are actually scared about facing this clown?

Didn't he say something like this after Game 1 last year as well? Something along the lines of how they didn't try or the Leafs were lucky?

To be fair, he might be a clown in front of a camera, but he's a pretty good coach behind a bench.

Even still, I'm definitely not afraid of Tampa this year. I think they're out of gas, and the Leafs are hungry. As long as no one knees Tavares in the head, I think Toronto takes this series in 6 or less.

Good coach, he knows exactly what he's doing.
Never understood why people think that coaches/players/etc actually honestly say what they think at these things.
Rarely is that the case.

There hasn't been a single person that thinks he's being honest. That doesn't change the fact that what Cooper said is beyond stupid.
You'll dump on Keefe for breathing, but defend Cooper when he makes comments like this?

Bring on the Bruins. Tampa should be an appetizer unless we allow that clown to beat us again.

Classy act by the Bruins giving away their game worn jerseys on Fan appreciation day last night.
