I feel like that’s literally part of his job.
To be a press conference weasel or to actually say something meaningful?
I feel like that’s literally part of his job.
Who's to say it'd be selling high? I actually think he has more in him.Do you sell high on Geekie?
If you’re looking to extend him, at what cost?
And to what end?
Why Lindholm, he didn't work out well with Pasta before ? Oh! I get he can get points playing with those to guys like he did with TKachuk and Guadreau and justify his contract.Thoughts on 28 year old Mikko Rantanen in free agency? Could he be effective skating opposite Pastrnak?
Rantanen • Lindholm • Pastrnak
I wonder if he comes across the same way when trying to make a deal with his peers? Id hope not, but just his overall snootiness and arrogance at times when he's in front of the camera and on a mike. It wouldn't surprise me if that came out from time to time in talks with other Gm's.To be a press conference weasel or to actually say something meaningful?
He should not be a target of the Bruins.Maccelli speculation per EF. He says Utah needs size. He mentioned them back to back seems like he was trying to "suggest" it
Great 7.8 million for FO% and defensive ability.Marchand • Zacha • (Geekie)*
Lindholm has had an underwhelming season but I still think he improves next season. With Pastrnak & Zacha a Lindholm type would be a good option at center for his FO% and defensive ability.
I don't think any other team is putting him on their best line and gving him a bunch of PP time./Who's to say it'd be selling high? I actually think he has more in him.
Purely in the spirit of reciprocity, you are saying this to me specifically because I made fun of you once, possibly over a year ago, and you are accustomed to being a virtually uncontested, declarative poster here. That occurs to me as unhealthily neurotic preoccupation. This is some serious emotional projection lol
Does Pettersson total no show at the 4nations send any alarm to you, that him and his 11 mil plus salary might be a good idea to stay away from him, add to his mediocre play since signing the contract. Only asking because I know you see him play a lot more than myself.Posted this on the GM media thread by accident:
Honestly, I use the LTIR money from the two D to trade for Pettersson, let him play with Pastrnak the rest of the way, move out Geekie, Coyle, Carlo, Frederic, Brazzeau and Korpisalo if you can.
Zacha - Pettersson - Pastrnak
Marchand - Lindholm - Poitras
XXX - XXX - XXX
XXX - Beecher - XXX

Zadorov - McAvoy
Lindholm - XXX
Lohrei - Peeke
Oesterle
Swayman

IF you decide to move Marchand for the playoffs and then re-sign him you take a stab at Rantanen then resign Marchand for the 3rd line.
Time to gut, re-stock and lock in a 1st line C.

This feels like a lot of cherry picking and moving the goal posts. First it's, he can't acquire good talent, then it's yeah but how many did he hold onto. Or it's look at the team he built when it at it's lowest and riddled with injuries and surgeries and holdouts. The team he built last year had 109 points. The year before they were the best regular season team in history, but I'm only interested in looking at the one season that makes him look bad instead of the 8 that made him look good.Ironically 2 of those players Carlo and Jake came out of the 2015 draft. Hall wanted to be a Bruin and forced Buffalo's hand on an expiring contract, it was Boston or no-where. Orlov where is he now? McAvoy was a Great pick when most wanted Fabbro, as was Swayman. Not much there in 10 years though. I just fear what this team will look like in 4-5 years down the road with Sweeney leading the way, these next couple of years decisions will go a long way on determining just that. I hope I'm wrong, because I don't see him going anywhere and Imho the future will be very bleak with him at the helm.
No idea- he gets things done, so imagine this is his press conference mode. Who knows, though.I wonder if he comes across the same way when trying to make a deal with his peers? I extend him for 4 years at $4m per. I think he'll be really great value at that number, a lot less expensive than a UFA with similar production (I'm assuming he puts up 25 this year.)Do you sell high on Geekie?

and he's getting better and better at it here.I don't think any other team is putting him on their best line and gving him a bunch of PP time./
There are examples of really good teams with 2nd/3rd line grinders on their top line. Colorado has Lehkonen, he's been in the league 9 years and before this year his career high was 21 goals. Dallas' best line when healthy is Marchment-Duchene-Seguin. And of course, the Chicago Cup teams always put grinders like Byckell on their top lines.I don't think any other team is putting him on their best line and gving him a bunch of PP time./
Its far from cherry picking its factual. You say he built those teams not even close the core of those great teams were already on hand when he arrived. No way was it cherry picking, I gave him credit for McAvoy and Swayman picks, but Its a mess right now and with most of that contingent gone all that remains is Pasta and Marchand. He tried to win a cup I gave him credit there as well, but he failed and in the process he has totally gutted this teams future and I fear what it will look like in 3-4 years if he's still in charge. He gave a valiant effort, but the core he started with, GMs around the country would of begged for a line-up of players with that kind of talent and pedigree, what was their like 4 arguably 5-6 HOFers on it?This feels like a lot of cherry picking and moving the goal posts. At a certain point, you're forced to acknowledge that, probably, guys like Bergeron, Chara, Krejci weren't great in the same pervasive way that most fans like to conclude. Obviously, great on this team and for this team, but when you're keeping the company of like Crosby, Toews, Kopitar, is it that those teams were managed way better contemporaneously, or is it that we often group our players we love in with guys who were just better competitors in moments that mattered.I extend him for 4 years at $4m per. I think he'll be really great value at that number, a lot less expensive than a UFA with similar production (I'm assuming he puts up 25 this year.)
4 years because if we can't compete in the next 4 years we might as well deal Pasta and start the 10 year rebuild.
2 mil per for this year and next on a relatively young left shot defenseman with the cap hit on the rise, imho id feel it would be a low risk - high reward move.Didn't want him. He has another year at $2m and we already have Lindholm, Zadorov and Lohrei for next year. We don't need a $2m 7th D.
If he were a right shot D I'd be all over it, but we're already developing a young LD to go along with our 2 established left siders. Just doesn't feel like a good fit to me.2 mil per for this year and next on a relatively young left shot defenseman with the cap hit on the rise, imho id feel it would be a low risk - high reward move.
