You really think you are smart don't you LOL?

1st of all, I wasn't referring to Engvall/Giraffe correlation. Pretty well everyone knows that by now Einstein.

2nd, get it into your head, not everyone living in Quebec is a Habs fan. I can assure you I've been a die-hard Leaf fan much longer than you. Most likely before you were born.

It is the suffering of animals that I object to. Maybe you get enjoyment out of seeing animals suffer but I can assure you most folks don't.

And please don't call me your friend willya. By now I know enough about you that I wouldn't wanna be associated with your kind.

Now, as I said b4, get lost.

ps. and by the way, who died made you the king telling any Leaf fan around here to get lost the moment they criticize their own team fcol!

That's Lions doing what Lions do

That's nature, she can be a tough business
No point putting your head in the sand and pretending it doesn't happen

The Giraffe dies so the Lions can live

I wasn't born yesterday my friend.

What does posting pain & suffering of a helpless creature has to do with our enjoyment of our team?!!
There's time & a place for posting such things.
That's all I am getting at here.

Peace.

Maybe, and since Jarnkrok shoots right, have him play centre except for faceoffs?
Ya. He's a smart enuff guy and always in the right places, he could swing to wing on his non-dominant face-off side, but I think he'd be capable at any position like his PK roving. I also think he has more snap to his shot than most of our middle 6, but more to the point about someone who cpuld play well defensively with them - he would likely fit well on both sides of the dot, and in all zones.

If witnessing Sittler cry as he embraced Salming couldn't motivate these guys to blow out two struggling teams, what will truly motivate them?

Some good signs after an awful start, granted it was against Vancouver who is absolutely awful

- Robertson looked good and had some nice plays
- Matthews displayed his patented wrist shot. Now the question is why he isn't using it more?
- Engvall had his best game of the year, not surprised it came right after his lowest Ice time of the season. The guy seems to only start playing when he gets a kick in his ass
- Benn with a nice debut
- Kampf looked excellent as usual
- Thought JT/Marner were pretty quiet tonight

Lot of weird takes in here. Vancouver has a garbage record but they are pretty much in every game they play. They even lead in most of them at some point, they just can't lock it down when they need to. They are a good offensive team that cannot play defense. They aren't a trash team like a few in here are saying.

I thought Benn was actually pretty good tonight, even without his goal. Played simple hockey, got some shots on net from the point, he didn't try and overthink things out there.

Engvall came to play for once, looked great out there. Fourth line looks pretty good too. If only our top 2 lines would start lighting it up 5v5, not something I thought we would be worried about going into the season.

They shows the whole thing. It was great. Just watched it again and makes you wonder why didn’t the boys come out flying and how the heck did Lidstorm not become a Leafs, lol.
That was a great presentation but I’m not surprised they didn’t come out flying. That was a tough watch to see borje like that. Unfortunately it was more depressing than motivating.

I have to admit to paying no attention to Jordie Benn's career. Based solely on last night's game, he plays defense like a 4th liner who was asked to play defense in an emergency: he seems to have an aversion to skating backwards and he gives huge gaps to opposing forwards. But we'll always have that game winning goal he scored while being way too deep and on the wrong side.

How many posts and crossbars did Vancouver hit? It really felt like another game the Leafs were primed to throw away.

Oh gosh, this is sadly the world we now live in. Don't get your panties in a bunch, the picture was funny.

How many breakaways/passes behind the defense did we miss? Matthews had a few in the last few minutes alone.

The Leafs were definitely the better team. Vancouver was lucky the Leafs only won by a goal, not the other way around.

If you have three more wins than losses, then you are 3 games above .500. If you were 8-8-3, you would be .500.

They are 3 games above .500. Jesus christ, I didnt think I needed to explain this.
8 Wins, 8 Losses, three of the losses just happen to give you an extra point. There is no moral victory in the loser point, a loss is a loss.

Technically the loser point is a tie point. Even the old school system recorded ties. The extra point is from OT/SO wins, but that doesn’t mean a tie at the end of regulation is a loss.

Jordie Benn is a stud. Maybe he is not even Top 6, but love his attitude.

Yup, he absolutely f***ing levelled somebody too. Haven't seen a hit like that from a Leafs player since Muzzin was healthy, we need more of that in the lineup. Opposing wingers shouldn't feel comfortable just coasting around and crossing the blue line, you lay those kinds of hits a few times and they start thinking twice about if they really wanna carry the puck in. Hate to be that guy and bring it up, but exhibit A was Ben Chiarot in the Montreal series. Physical play makes a difference, hoping Benn gets rotated in and out of the lineup appropriately we need that physical element.

Giraffe had himself a great game as well, really impressed by his play from the 2nd period onward.

Some people are only here to try and make the rest of us miserable.
Right ? The boys show so much poise and character, coming down from 0-2 on the 2nd night of a back to back, Borje in the building

Like are we upset they found a way to claw back and take over the game ??? Yes the 1st period sucked. Yes they clearly addressed that at the intermission. Yes they dominated the game from that point on and pulled off a huge win.

Nobody is talking about that like 3 minute stretch where we had the Canucks hemmed into their own zone, I think all 4 lines got a shift and had them pinned down, Garland was on the ice for over 2 minutes. Or that Engvall shift where he f***ing dominated their entire team, generated like 3 chances before finally burying it.

"omg we barely beat the canucks this team sucks!" some people are just so miserable, don't let it kill your enthusiasm.

Good character comeback win on a special night with our 4th stringer still in net. Kallgren deserves great praise for playing the best hockey of his NHL career so far. Not a big fan of his as an NHL goalie but he's come through.

Still looking for Matthews to explode in a game but he's slowly chugging along I guess. 7 goals and 15 points in 16 games is considered a slump for him, heh.

Run of play differential rankings so far this season:

Shot differential: 6th in the NHL
Scoring chance differential: 6th in the NHL
High Danger Chance differential: 7th in the NHL
xGF%: 7th in the NHL
PDO: 22nd in the NHL

Underlying stats are just barely outside the top 5 and PDO remains very low. Hoping they get back into the top 5 for everything and expect it over the next month.

This is incorrect. I don’t see why people do this.

A hockey game is 60 min of 5 on 5 hockey

At the end of 60 minutes. You are tied. This is how it was for like 50 years.

Then they added 4 on 4 and 3 on 3 ot.

Those took away ties.

You didn’t lose if you aren’t behind after 60 minutes. Baseball doesn’t have a loss column because they keep playing the same game over and over until someone wins.

Baseball was decided by a home run derby or basketball by a game of horse. They would have a seperate category
