I think you and I have different concepts of what's considered elite- I'm not sure what you consider it to be, but for me, it's finishing near the top of League in certain stats... JT is just shy of a PPG player, while that's decent in and of itself, he's never been near the top of the league in stats such as goals/assists/points etc.

He finished one point off the Art Ross back in 2015

He was also 3rd in the league in goals his first season in Toronto

Next couple games will be a good test for us, both Colorado and Minnesota have been good

I think Coloardo is a loss... teams typically that go on a lengthy road trip, tend to lay an egg the next game at home. Thats ok if the leafs lose though, we have enough of a point cushion to be able to lay an egg and it not really ding things.

Wrong

He's not washed up at all, he's just not elite (never has been, never will be)-He's an above average 2C on this team, who excels at winning puck battles in the O-zone, and has good hand-eye coordination in front BUT he's not overly fast, not the best defensively and he's not worth 11 million. I feel if he was making 7-7.5 million as opposed to 11 million, this conversation wouldnt be happening.
Yeah that is absolute bullshit. He is going to finish his career well over 1000 points and he has never been elite? Take the biggest lap ever and try again.

Nah still not good he’s gotta be a 100+ selke level 1C playing 17 minutes a game who can kill penalties and also juggle the puck in his left hand whilst outmuscling player with his right

then and only then will be elite
