Boys never quit on this game from Soupy on out, HUGE confidence builder win right here.
Changing or not changing the channel is easy. Delaying a trip to the bathroom when the Leafs are playing well can be painful.
but i said I think we tie it up when we pull Soup. that was with 4:30 left. Gold Star this way please.
When you hold Tampa without a shot for a 13 minute stretch.....it's much more than the goalie. The Leafs were dominant at times.I think Campbell deserves the vast majority of the credit he made about 5 game saving stops in the final 5 minutes.
I give credit where it's due and tonight about 90% of it belongs to Campbell
Here we go. Didn't win good enough. Nothing is ever good enough.
Nothing suggests they didn't deserve that win. That is pure baloney and wrong. This game was not just Campbell.
Frank McCool maybeSeason turning point game. What an absolute grind. Campbell was lights out. When was the last time we saw a performance like that from a Leafs goaltender? Ed Belfour? Cujo?
yeah I don't really understand why things only go one way. When the Leafs dominate and don't score (like for most of the game tonight) it's because the team isn't good enough. When the other team controls play and doesn't score, it's because the Leafs aren't good enough but got bailed out by goaltendingWhen you hold Tampa without a shot for a 13 minute stretch.....it's much more than the goalie. The Leafs were dominant at times.
Vasi is the only reason TB didn't get blown out.
Worth noting they're down their primary checking line from those cup wins and arguably their best players in Kuch.
This isn't THAT Tampa team, even if they are still elite. Vas was challenged more than ideal given Matthews and Marner largely mailed it in tonight
LOL we should all buy him a case of his fav SOUPI'd give Campbell a kiss on the lips if I could. That is all.
I still like Heinz soup betterI never want to hear any Campbell slander again
I don't see it as a statement game either just a competitive win vs. an elite team. Our top players have another gear and they have one on IR. Nice that the PP won it for us though and we smelled a little blood in that OT especially on the 4on3.Yeah, you're right. They're not that Tampa team... I'm not necessarily awarding the Leafs huge style points for getting it donetonight but on a momentum building level they did find a way to break through offensively (which they didn't in the playoffs in close games) and it's still Tampa. So if they're building confidence, getting it done somehow, banking wins, it's positive.
And who sits to Mr.Throw 10 punches and then ride the pine?
If they go after Sergachev in a one goal game and give them some PP time, it most likely ends up 5-0 for TB.
I call it not being idioitic.
To be honest, the leafs were getting goalie'd quite often this season that it's refreshing to see Campbell put up these kinds of performances. Vasilevskiy wasn't a slouch either so it's really good to see the big guns overcome that hurdle. He was unreal, but that's what makes good teams. All of your players showing up to cover for others when it matters. Tampa didn't win 2 cups in a row without Vasu stealing his share of games.
It's a good thing Campbell made some big key saves when arguably the best goalie in the world was doing the same at the other end, no?Not true I called the last game against the best regular season performance since the lockout because it was.
Tonight I'm giving Campbell the majority of the credit because without him in the final 5 minutes they DO NOT get to overtime let alone win you knowif you watched tonight that it's true.
