Post-Game Talk: Leafs strike lightning win 2-1 OT

When the organization has been selling redemption, process and maturation over the past few years as part of the championship climb, you try to follow along like a shadow coach or GM and check off boxes, make critiques and whatnot.

You’re free to follow the team your own way.

It’s also good that they’re winning in different ways as well over the four game period. Nail biting tire fire vs Chicago, kind of a sloppy one vs Detroit with plenty of offense, flat out destruction of Vegas and then a tight one vs Tampa. 2 of those teams have contender pedigree too so they’re winning against teams they should beat and also finding success against some of the big dogs.

Amazing game all around, that's FOUR in a row. I'm not talking about wins, FOUR games in a row with the big boys have all showed, not just on the stat sheet but playing well by the eye test. Safe to say JT has got the rust off, Nylander taking his game to the next level this year. Matthews/Marner both pick up 2 on the stat sheet and Soupy helps us secure the 2 points. Phenomenal effort, no quit attitude even after going down early, f***ing love it.
 
Sandin and Liljigren have been huge for us this year. They are prone to gaffs as any young player is but they are both so poised with the puck. Especially liking Sandin this year. Hes going to be a top pair guy one day

Liljegren’s game is still a little rough around the edges. You wouldn’t say he’s the next Kaberle cause he’s not that smooth operator with the puck at all times. But he’s effective all over the ice and becoming more and more assertive, taking the extra second to make a play.
 
Just caught up on the game. Had it recorded waiting for me.

Some people need a break from this board. This was a sick win. What's all the hate about. It's Tampa. You're not going to get a clean 60 minutes. They will be the better team at times. We will be better team at times. Then our big guys got it done in the end.

Campbell has earned my trust. 4 game win streak. Stopped Knights 3 game win streak. Stopped Bolts 3 game win streak.

Seriously wtf lol, if anything Leafs were the better team for majority of the game with the exception we had more individual brain farts.

Cheer up guys. We just faced the Knights and Bolts, came out 2-0 and only let in 1 goal. This 3 game series was a big test and we will come out of it either 3-0 or 2-1.

(Seriously, try watching the game like I just did with the message board out of your sight. This place is making people become out of touch. I was glancing the GDT while I was out and the negative vibe in there so uncalled for).

That's fine man, you do you. However, the way you are posting is coming off well...

Let's say this...we are celebrating like little kids at a birthday party, all is good after some weird times, but then we are all being reminded WE GOT A D+ ON A TEST. WHY ARE WE FORGETTING ABOUT THAT TEST AND HOW AS A GROUP WE SHOULD REMEMBER IT.

No denying we need to improve and all, but lets just enjoy the cake for now, be grateful and thankful, then we tackle it step by step. Hell tbh as i said before I don't really care about the regular season, not worried about it as much, all I care about is how they perform in the playoffs. I think we all know that's the more important thing, and if that can happen with enjoying the moment and building from it, it's prolly better to take a breath and enjoy.

The game isn't 5 minutes. It's 60 +. That game could have easily been 4-1 by the time the final 5 minutes happen.

Tampa didn't have a shot for 20 minutes! 20 minutes, and it went to OT. It's great we won, but this should have been a 5-1 win in regulation. Everyone seems so snakebitten.

I think Papi might be broken :( If he's still sore I wish they'd just sit him for a few games and let him heal up.

I still think Lily is better than Holl all day... My only fault of his, is that he doesn't seem to be that fast of a skater... I saw a few times tonight that the opposition almost beat him to the puck on an icing etc... Him and Sandin look great together IMO. Give them time, they will be a perfect pairing. I really liked them against VGK's the game before, they looked real good... lets be real... we just beat the B2B Stanley Cup Champs .... give him a break! They will be ok! =)

He is not broken. He said his wrist is fine... I know I never had surgery on mine, but when my cast came off... it was hard to get used to things as normal for a bit... His release is just as, or if not as fast as it always has been... he's fine man, the game before last proved that... I just think he needs to gel more with Bunting and Nylander... they will be epic very soon!
