What exactly is Spezza,Brooks,Michayev or Simmonds all thrown together? What is that role or function?

When you've pretty much guaranteed a spot on the 4th line to Spezza, why add a 33 year old that pretty much has nothing left? Seems to me Dubas is signing players based on cap hit rather than on fit. Why not wait until you see what your reshaped 3rd line looks like before making a decision on Simmonds? #DubasNoClue

Usage and surrounding players. Martin plays with two guys that are annoying and gritty. Cizikas threw 112 hits this year, and Clutterbuck threw 191. Totally different energy when the guys beside you are willing to go through a wall too

I was told players do not care about how much money others are making. These guys pull down their pants like everybody else to sh1t. Seeing somebody who is making 10x what you are making floating is not going to motivate many to go through a wall for the team. #Reality.

Value is fine since you can bury it, the bigger concern is whether they will be willing to scratch/demote him if necessary.

Last season there was a complete unwillingness to scratch Thornton/Simmonds even when there were clearly moments when it was needed.
