hmm, no one will take him, trade him and give up a pick with him to dump himAs soon as we get healthy, put him on waivers. Thank god it was only a year contract.

No one stood out as very good but he was one of the only plus players on the night.TJ was no gem out there tonight either
What's the implication of that?As soon as we get healthy, put him on waivers. Thank god it was only a year contract.
Not sure about that, on a one year deal. He can quarterback a power play. Not a given imo.hmm, no one will take him, trade him and give up a pick with him to dump him
It isn’t a positive for us, but I’d cut bait, he’s unplayable. It’s astounding to watch a vet with such low hockey IQ, the brain dead plays he’s making blow my mind.What's the implication of that?
If he is waived, would his remining salary plus Timmins salary as a replacement be pretty much a wash?Not sure about that, on a one year deal. He can quarterback a power play. Not a given imo.

I may take some heat in here but i would've rather paid Gudas or Schenn $4m annually for multiple years over giving this guy $4m on a 1-year deal.
At least those guys give us something sorely lacking on the back end like toughness and some intimidation factor

Been watching a lot of ducks games this season and Gudas has looked really good. He absolutely was someone this team could have used.I may take some heat in here but i would've rather paid Gudas or Schenn $4m annually for multiple years over giving this guy $4m on a 1-year deal.

It's based on reputation. Klingberg was once a very good dman and because he was a part of the Stars' run to the finals in 2019-20, he gets the benefit of the deep playoff run contract bonus.I seriously have to question Trelivings decision making skills. What did he see over the last few seasons that motivated him to sign Klingberg for $4.15 million is beyond me.
Try watching him live, just brutal.The signing from the start was a confusing one. Outside of the multiple years, you're probably not wrong on this.
The most frustrating part is that he just doesn't have a feel for the defensive game from centre ice and back. Gap control is weak. Assisgnments are non-existant & he isn't providing any offense.
Lol, Klingberg says hold my beerCan't be any worse than Holl
HahaMore than I trust Gustafsson. And Holl, Gio and maybe if Liljegren for 82 games.
If you prorate Klingberg’s numbers to 82 games;
Anaheim:

-46

Minny:

8.2 Point Share
For comparison sake here is Rielly;
52 points

I don’t expect Klingberg to be better than Rielly but he can easily be better than Brodie, McCabe, Liljegren, Giordano and others who aren’t with the team who played in the top 4; Schenn and Holl
Still feel like it's a very good move?I honestly like this signing a lot more than most people. This team needs more skating and more skill from the backend. He brings that to the 2nd/3rd pairing.
I never expected him to be a target but it makes sense. For 1 year, this is a very good move to give us more puck movement.
There's a lot of upside to Klingberg bouncing back. He wouldn't be the first player in the NHL to do so.
Hi - just lurking because I'm a Canes fan that lives in Toronto but wanted to point out that Bickell didn't get his payday in Carolina. He got it in Chicago and they had to attach Teuvo Teravainen to him in order to offload his contract. Canes paid a 2nd and 3rd (the 2nd was acquired from NYR in the E Staal trade).It's based on reputation. How many times have you witnessed players that were role players on Cup winners or Cup finalists get a big payday and flop? Lets count them:
- Nazem Kadri - A player btw, that everyone on this subreddit said was better than Tavares because of ONE outlier season.
- Bryan Bickell - Member of the Cup winning Blackhawks dynasty, got his payday in Carolina.
- Dave Bolland - Received a 4x$5.5 deal from Florida with a no move clause
- James Neal - Made the finals with the Golden Knights and was rewarded with 5x$5.75 deal immediately afterwards
What?Yep, I've seen enough, he's cooked.
Waivers it is, once everybody gets healthy and give Timmins a chance, he can't be worse than this.
Also, call Calgary Brad and get Hanifan in here. Wow was that pitiful to watch. Woll had a good game and he let 6 in. That's how bad the defence was.
Still feel like it's a very good move?
I'll join you in that.You've never been wrong before around here? Feeling good this morning?
I was optimistic and I've been wrong before. Not enough offence to justify the brutal defensive play.
