Especially since Marner himself was cold in the first several games. Once he heats up to his usual production, having Bertuzzi on that line will result in a lot of goals.

Yeah, the most straightforward explanation for Bertuzzi laughing on the bench is "this clown show is unbelievable" as in the gall of Marchand, the officiating, etc. That's no biggie. Being part of the clown show afterwards and getting benched two games in a row would be the issue. I'm laughing and shaking my head at that too.

Feels increasingly likely that Bertuzzi’s time here will not extend beyond this season, if he even gets that far. Not fitting in right now and he seems to (not unjustifiably) hate the media. Still lots of time for things to change and his attitude to improve but so far so bad.
Bertuzzi knows he messed up by laughing on the bench, so his response is im not going to explain myself. He will look worse by lying and making up an excuse as to why. Bertuzzi laughing shows his heart is not with the Leafs right now, its like he still admires Marchand and wants to be cool with him. Pretty embarassing. This isnt going well for Bertuzzi, he isnt finishing his checks, his skating is on Tavares level, he isnt producing points, he dislikes media questions and this laughing flaky crap vs the Bruins.

Seriously? It's been 10 games. He can score twice tonight and this whole place will start to love him again.
I would trade him now for a defenseman, if he is producing 15 points thru 40 games, his value will be much lower than what it is now. Bertuzzi wont be missed, Knies can replace him, Robertson can slot in on the 3rd line.

Thought he played harder tonight... he was a little more impactful... but not nearly enough I feel.
Not sure he is a good fit for this team. Too slow moving, too slow making decisions. Maybe he needs to be on a line where he is the shooter.

I’m still very hopeful that Bertuzzi and Domi can find their bearings.
Still very early in the season and Keefe has no clue how to create any continuity or chemistry in his lineup.
Both Bertuzzi and Domi have found ways to contribute on better teams than us.
Hoping they settle in and find ways to play how they can play. They were both impact players in the playoffs last year.
We need them to be for us as well. I’m hoping they do.

I would bail on him Kris Versteeg styles. He seems like a poor fit and just get rid of him for a good return to do something else.

I can’t see us retaining on him but at full hit he’s pretty much the biggest rental a contender can afford unless they play LTIR games. Between that and his NMC you’re probably looking at a smaller return than Hall or Kane got unless we sell him through a 3rd party that takes some of our return for retaining.

If his terrible play continues I don't think the NMC will be an issue. His UFA value goes down with every terrible outing on Toronto.
