Confirmed with Link: Leafs sign F Tyler Bertuzzi (1 year, $5.5M)

Also marner, Matthews and nylander were infected by the career losers Thornton and Marleau early in their career. They all absorbed the timidity, lack of engagement/leadership, passivity and low energy of these veterans.

Just before signing Marleau in the summer of 2017, the core three and the rest of the maple leafs offered fierce opposition against the top seed the capitals in a intense, close, hard fought and competitive series. No one thought they would adopt these bad habits later in their career. Or they were already born losers, and we didn’t know it yet back then, because we didn’t see their true colors yet ? Looking back, the future was promising and exciting, we never expected the current disappointing results.

I'll be watching closely how he compares statistically and on impact to former Leafs Zach Hyman .

When Zach was 28, Leafs couldn't/wouldn't afford to give him term at $5.5 mil so he walked away.

Now 28 year old Tyler Bertuzzi is making $5.5 mil this year in hopes of extending.

Both players might line up in the same spot riding LW for Auston Matthews on Leafs top line so it should be interesting evaluation on performance.
 


This is what we need more of on this roster, and Domi and Reaves will be the same way. Some prick on the opposition is running around acting like a jackass? f*** him, mess with him back. Let him know you're there for Christ's sake. Too often the Leafs turn the other cheek to their detriment.
 
To have 3 major players on either 1 year deals or last year of their contract, that's a lot of motivation to have exceptional years. Really looking forward to see all the damage Bertuzzi/Domi and Nylander will do this season
