Domi will only be used in offensive zone situations and on the PP. He will be sheltered, will play against weaker and softer offensive lines/defense pairs , and won’t be used in a defensive role(no pk time, few shifts in the defensive zone and no defensive coverage )
That’s not what they need.

Treliving was handed a bad hand and done a great job so far evading the landmines of the past.. Its very smart convincing these players to take 1 year deals because then he can go to 3 Amigos later and show if you leave some money on the table we will be able to bring them back if they work out and if some don't no big deal and their UFAs at seasons end.

Try before you buy long term, on prove it contracts, should really bring out the best in the new players working for their next contracts.

Once we know where Matthews and Nylander land on their next deals it would be easier for BT to make plans going forward.
Worth a shot, but none of the four signees can play a lick in their own end and they don’t have great speed.

Would be nice. Not sure what he's looking for though. If we can convince Dumba to take a 1 yr 3M deal and then dump Brodie for Zadorov I think we are set

Rielly Dumba
McCabe Klingberg
Zadorov Lily

its gonna take some work though cap wise
Dumba is a non starter. They don’t need him anywhere near their team.

Adam Foote and Claude Lemieux no longer play, you had to mean those two, right?

Cal and Brendan are not better than anyone we have on our roster.

Cal Foote is in the mold of a "Schenn" type defenseman, 6'5, bruising 2-way style, above average speed, tons of upside still, former first round pick, perfect complimentary partner for Reilly imho would be a slick signing on the cheap, could definitely break out with opportunity (didn't get in Tampa)

Any team that gets him will be happy for sure...

I love what Lemieux brings (underrated skills, former 2nd round pick) tough as nails, dogged forchecker, can move from 3rd - 4th line, played for a trash team last year, play/numbers/value will elavate with more skilled linemates. Perfect guy to help wear down the other team in the playoffs!!! Agitator but will fight when dishonored (unlike Bunting)

Should sign for close to league min, would be an icing on the cake signing for me

But you can believe what you want...
You probably believe your joke about Claude and Adam was original too lmfao @ you 😆 🤣 😂

Seems like a similar offseason to 2 years ago, just with a different GM.

Which do you folks prefer? Bunting and Ritchie or Bertuzzi and Domi?

Personally I prefer the latter 2 at this point in time.

outside of some fiestiness and having the domi brand the numbers suggest he does not contribute much.

feel like it'll end up like clarkson or something, but at least the contract is just for one year.

yea but i also don't want brodie lol
I’d rather they Let Brodie finish his career.

They're at the cap limit now and the team is a little worse than the one that got caved in the playoffs, so something has to give.

The latter two as well (either of Bertuzzi or Domi represents a clear upgrade over Ritchie).

He got screwed early on when he first got to Dallas. He was electric with Marchment and Seguin right off the bat and then Marchment got hurt and it screwed our lines up. From that point on Domi didn’t have consistent linemates.

He’s going to become a fan favorite quickly I have no doubt. Definitely going to watch the Leafs more with him and Bertuzzi out there.

Domi is going to produce offensively like Kerfoot, maybe a bit better, but has way more of an edge which I'm glad Boston Pizza Brad is serious about.
Last year in the same number of games he produced only 4 fewer points than Tavares at even strength. He can win faceoffs too.

Try him at 2C - with Willy he'll likely do better, and it's almost guaranteed Willy will.

I’d put Knies with Tavares. I really want Bertuzzi with Marner and Matthews. We need a pest with them who can score
Even better:

Bertuzzi - Matthews- Nylander
Knies - Domi - Marner
Jarnkror - Tavares - X
