Player came from last 10 draft before treliving

2013 monahan
2012 jankowski
2011 , gaudreau
2008 tj brodie
2007 backlund
2004 prust

Now 9 of treliving
2014 bennett
2015 andersson, kyllington, mangiapanne
2016 tkachuk, dube, fox
2017 ruzicka
2019 pelletier, wolf

Rest is too soon to evaluate in first 5 season, Calgary draft pratically 2X amount of good player than the 10 year before...

Should be surprising he was one of oldest team when they didnt get the job done at draft before he hired a calgary GM? Should we surprising he needed to pay and overpay free agent to fill hole in his line up with only few young player able to step in?

For the quality of team he obtained and city difficulty, honestly i think he did in general a good job in Calgary and i just dont undrrstand why everyones complain about him...

He still made playoff 5 of 9 season he was there without having a top team but enough good to have some succes

That's actually a pretty decent list lol. Fox a Norris winner, Bennett/Tkachuk playing in the finals now.

I will keep my mind open about Treliving if we hire him, but there's few worse forms of owner meddling than hiring a GM cuz of some stupid family friendship.

I don't really like Treliving at all, but he'll be coming to a good team. A strange situation given the contract situations for the core players, but he has assets to work with and cap space.

This is the guy who single handily trashed the Flames. That team is a disaster because of what he did.

I really hope that Florida wins the Cup so that Tkachuk laughs in this guys face.

I think it's prudent of Shanny to cast a wide net and interview as many candidates as possible, just like anytime a company is looking to hire for a position. I'm curious to see who comes out of the woodwork (maybe Kevin McDonald from Col?) Just please don't hire Mike Gillis.

Shanny will never hire someone like Gillis who acts like he is the smartest in the room, although he usually is, lol.

It didn't sound like Tkachuk or Johnny Hockey had any intention of staying in Calgary. He sems like a competent, however, average GM. My guess is Shanny and ownership will be pulling all the strings when it comes to hockey decisions anyways. This entire situation screams of the JFJ days.

Tkachuk was rfa and wanted to leave..what choice he reallyd had? Resign tkachuk 1 season and lost him for nothing the next one?

Thats why i said i just dont understand all the hate against him... Can we have better choice? Maybe but sometime when youre thinking its a better choice, at the end its just worst... except if we gave him a chance, we cant say he would be worst or better than anyome else...

He was fired...but only after Treliving quit because they wanted to keep the coach. I think Maloney is the guy who wanted Sutter in the first place.
a good point in here is that a player's mutiny occured in Calgary under Treliving's watch, what's to stop the same from happening here???????

Shanahan should be fired himself for even considering this guy for the GM position. Toxic.

So we should blame treliving because calgary is a trash city player dont want to stay?
No I never said that. It is a trash team! Bad contracts and players.

What will you say when Matthews skips town? That he did not want to play on the trash city of Toronto?

the best talent evaluator available is my choice. BTW, do you not see the irony of the statement "what mouth breathing, knuckle dragger do you have in mind" sounds coming from someone with the poster handle of Al Secord..............

Toronto is a city player want to play, calgary is probably 1 of 5 team in bottom of that list

If you get a city where no body want to stay or sign with, how can you still sign player? Your overpay and giving contracts other will not because its the only way!!!

So again we should blame treliving to be gm of a city nobody want to play, its his fault for sure!!!

Toronto is a desired City for players? Desired by Americans who grew up in a sun belt. Not sure I agree.

But that doesn't necessarily seem like a good enough reason to say he's the right choice for Toronto though....
