True but not in the case of Calgary.I don't. Usually it is the GM that hires the coach.

I actually think Hyman would have a been a risk free signing in the sense that he will most likely end up on LTIR for the last few years of his deal. He gets injured almost yearly now with those knees of his.For sure. Something Dubas did well to avoid... probably because he had no cap space to compete with other teams to sign these players but he avoided term to any player that wasn't seen as a core player. Sometimes they work out though. I think Coleman was a fine signing at the time for them and still doing well. Hyman with his current contract but with Toronto would have been fine but maybe in a few years it becomes a problem.
Mrazek and Ritchie were 2 terrible signings but the term made it possible to dump them quickly.
why? No one said that when he was good and won a cup.Would easily be our worst contract.
So does an interview automatically make him the strongest/most likely candidate for the job?

I hope your right!!Kinda funny how hard Strickland is selling Treliving to the Leafs. I wonder if he's nervous Armstrong is about to leave.
I hope not.Let’s get to the real question on our minds, Will leaf fans get deals at Boston Pizza?
My biggest concern with BT is that he hired Sutter and his drafting does not look great.
He got rid of himself.People were delighted to get rid of Dubas, there isn’t better available.
Yeah. So all we do is cheer for contracts? When he won the Cup he was making $4.5M on a short term deal. Now he's making $7M for the next 6 years and turns 33 before the season starts.
Better? What has Dubas accomplished?People were delighted to get rid of Dubas, there isn’t better available.
I actually feel the exact opposite. Florida is just a hot team right now, they got swept by Tampa last year. We do need to get rid of the fluff like Kerfoot, Jarnkrok, and Kampf, any bottom 6 needs to add a griity element but the top 4 can remain and the team can still become tough and gritty with them here.Watching this ECF series, the more minutes that go by the more convinced I am that we cannot run this back again if they want any sort of playoff success next year.
I don’t get that thinking either. Unless 1 series win while he was in charge is considered the absolute best result possible, why fear change?Better? What has Dubas accomplished?
Lol. Ohhh come on man.I actually feel the exact opposite. Florida is just a hot team right now, they got swept by Tampa last year. Because change isn't automatically better, and it's easy to go from "lose in first round" to "miss the playoffs entirely"...I don’t get that thinking either. Unless 1 series win while he was in charge is considered the absolute best result possible, why fear change?
Of course it doesn’t mean automatically better. Who said it did?Because change isn't automatically better, and it's easy to go from "lose in first round" to "miss the playoffs entirely"...
