How many more would you like?

Something tells me anything short of infinity will be insufficient.

Dougie Hamilton plays better defence and is as good offensively.

There. I said it.

If you watch them so much why is it so difficult to point out some more examples?

Hamilton is almost always sent out against the opponent's top offensive players.

The opponent's top offensive players are almost always sent out against Reilly.

This is an observation that most people don't get because they don't know what home-ice advantage means.

That basically sums up the defence. Offensively they are similar. Doug Hamilton is way bigger and stronger and has a longer reach. Rielly seems to avoid contact.

No not at a disadvantage, trying to even the playing field possibly. If Edmonton sends out their second rate players, there's probably not a good chance that they're going to outdo Rielly.

Like I said you can't assume things.

Common sense...

This seems more about you trying to prove something then it to actually be true. It seems like you're using 1 game as some measurement for Reilly. You also haven't provided accurate examples of Hamilton either.

He's a complete package. Rielly is not. He's like Kaberle.

I think it would be great to have a player like post Cam Janssen Kaberle. Rielly from what I've seen from him is a more aggressive and creative player who uses his skating and mobility to his advantage. Kaberle always seemed to be a passive player who had great passing but wasn't really controlling the play on the ice, except maybe on the powerplay.

I also think you're overrating Hamilton's defence just a bit.

I think you mean pre-Cam Janssen.

No, Rielly's sent out in all situations. Hamilton's 6'4 and you're telling me he's bigger and has a longer reach? Sublime. You should consider going pro with your scouting.

Think what you want. Hockey exerts from all corners of the league agreed Montreal had a very good draft last year. It's not about the fans.

Who are the experts that do these rankings? How are they anything more than fans?

Detroit has been milking the lucky picks of Datsyuk and Zetterberg for almost a decade now, so I'm not sure why you're surprised.

Ryan Sproul, Xavier Ouellet and Jake Paterson are at this year's selection camp.

2nd. and 3rd. round picks?

Well, they've only had 2 first round picks in the past 5 drafts so I guess they have to come from somewhere.

Come on man,try to work with me here.Do you feel better if I say hockey analysts across north america? I mean, try to understand that what I meant to say its not only Montreal biased media / fans that say that Montreal had a good draft.

I quoted the wrong post, couldn't care less about the Habs nor their fans opinions here.

I meant who are the experts at HF that rank these players?

Probably just fans who like hockey more than you and I (or have more time to pee away).

One ranking is just one ranking.

We really need to see several rankings to have a better idea.

I'd say you could look at the selection camps for this year's WJC and have a good idea about how unquestioned experts feel about the under 20's.

Even then, they are after the best at this time in that age group, while there may be others with higher (potential) upside.

Is there really a market to do rankings of drafted players though? We can understand why undrafted players get ranked, that information has value to 30 NHL teams. After those players are owned by someone the value drops substantially, except for sites like HF's.

If he ends up like Kaberle we will be very fortunate. Kaberle was our best defenseman for years.

I dont see the comparison at all with Kaberle. TK wasnt really the fastest skating defenceman, his strength was his decision making with the puck. You rarely saw him skating from his own end into the other teams blueline. I would Percy's game is more comparable to Kaberle.
