I'm worried since they were targeting Knies, next on Florida's to do list will be
Marner. With a 2 game lead, they might be willing to go after Marner hard, hoping that he won't return.

So many people said this team would never win a round, they were (finally) proven wrong. What's condescending about pointing out this simple truth?

Because you know very well that there are people posting here that are just looking for reaction with their outlandish negatives. Yes there a quite a few posters who are unhappy with aspects of the organization, but most offer a reasonable explanation for their opinion (you don't have to agree) but you seem to be suggesting that anyone with a negative slant, is proclaiming absolutes when that just isn't true.

The ones that are too over the top can be ignored.

Lets see how the leafs response to the hit by Bennett

I don't expect them to drop the gloves but some targetted hitting would be nice

Watching the Canes play last night was something else. Fast with a tremendous hit, Hischer got absolutely gutted by Kotkanemi
These are not players you would expect to hit but they bought into a system

Rod is making the most of his team even with injuries.

Lets see who stands up or shows up for leafs
We already know how they will respond with Bennett………..nothing zero nada. The guy injured our new young star in the making and cross checks Bunting in the neck and then the back when he is on the ground, not one of them lifts a dam finger.
This is not a cohesive team, this is a group of haves and have nots only concerned about payday

Teams going after Marner hard in playoffs always. The playoff results over the years tell you we've BEEN worrying about this moment since game 1 regular season.

Switched work shifts from today to tomorrow so I could watch the game tn but they play sunday instead of a saturday night wtf?? Probably should have checked but what a stupid schedule

Here is why Leafs are down 0-2 to Florida.

The consequences of spending 1/2 your Cap on only 4 forwards, and when the opposition holds them in check and off the scoreboard their odds of winning increases.

Every game in the playoffs is a must win but this one is a can’t lose.
Florida only needs a split at home to really put the squeeze on us.
We need to win game 3 to put the pressure back on them for their split at home or either tied 2-2.

Were down 2-0 but we controlled the puck and play better most of the games I feel. Last night we played 59 minutes but that 1 minute screwed us.

I feel we are the better team and can still win, but the Panthers have shown any mistake we make, they will capitalize on. There goalie has also stood on his head, with some luck on his side as we hit the post 3 times last night. Pretty much need to win both games in Florida to have a chance though, which is a very tall task.

We might get outplayed in our next game, it's not like we are playing an AHL team we can beat if we just try a little.

You need to close and win those games you have the upper hand.

PS: For all I care suck for 60 min, but win it !!

I'm unhappy with some aspects as well but that has nothing to do with what I said. Some offer reasonable explanations for their opinions but that also has nothing to do with what I said. As for what "I seem to be suggesting", I'm not suggesting anything of the sort.

Your post makes no sense, it's mostly just strawman arguments except for the part that says people can be ignored. Sometimes I do ignore them, but I can also point out that they were wrong now that that's been proven and in this case after listening to their BS for many years that's what I decided to do.

If you have a problem with that that's fine, we're all entitled to our opinions. But if you want to discuss something with me, I suggest you start with something other than a bunch of strawman arguments.

I know the Leafs seem to coach out big hits as it often takes our players out of position but I’d definitely give schenn and Acciari the green light on Bennett. Tkachuk too. If they get a chance to erase either player then do it!!

Typically, if a team is head hunting guys, there will have to be a fight/line brawl to settle the waters. Just see what happened to Brayden Point on the Rielly hit. If not there will be some kind of response. You don't get to target and pick guys off at will.

Just throwing this out there:

It's entirely possible we could see a Stanley Cup final featuring a team backstopped by Freddie Andersen facing another team with Jack Campbell in net. Enjoy your Saturday!

That's impossible, they just aren't capable of the clutch saves needed.

The one chart that so many don’t want to see or acknowledge
Sadly many fans believe in the feel good make believe World of expected stats and goals so everything is fine based on positive analytics.

but marner's ex gf is so high bro

I'm a realist when it comes to the Leafs and so in the real World "Actual goals >>> Expected goals".

How many expected goals the core 4 was expected to score means ZERO, because their actual goal contribution was Zero.

One could even go as far as claiming Tavares falling behind his own net, Nylander carelees play with the puck, and Marner's back pass to Matthews in Leafs own zone that all ended up in turnovers and resulted in actual goals against cost the Leafs the game, and the core 4 had a negative impact on winning, as they actually helped turn Florida expected goals into actual goals. :wg:

Did you see Kotkanemi throw a hit on Hischier last night? Someone who is not known to throw hits.
Arguably the best hit in playoffs so far if not top 3. Fast with another great hit

It's really on our top 4 to come through and dictate the play. If Nylander doesn't have the puck, he's invisible. Tavares can't get to a play, he's so slow. Matthews does his best to avoid being touched and Marner can only perform cute plays

Our top boys have to hit, send a message. Not Acciari, not Schenn. Both of those boys have gone above and beyond. They have played their part

Bob's been good but he's also been extremely lucky. That stick shaft save on Matthews in game 1. Multiple posts/cross bars. Pucks going between his legs but slowing down just enough for him to stop it. Kicking out juicy rebounds to the right side - one would have been right on Jarn's stick if Jarn didn't inexplicably start celebrating a goal and headed for JT instead of continuing his path to the net.

He's looked good, but he hasn't looked impenetrable like Price did against us.

Need to going and getting some goals, limit the turnovers and self inflicted goals against and take it one game at a time, still not that worried about being down 0-2, can easily see Toronto battling back and making in a 2-2 series by the end of game 4.
