Do you think that ESPN is going to show an NHL Playoff game in opposition to the ABC double header NBA playoff scheduled for the same time slot? Both ESPN and ABC are owned by Disney. Heads would roll at ESPN and at NHL Headquarters if they scheduled an NHL game in direct competition. The Miami Heat are playing a playoff game in Miami Saturday night as well. If you don't think that is a more important consideration for schedule makers, I don't know what to tell you.
I hadn't even heard this derby explanation until today, I don't get where it even came from lol

This is what pisses me off about him.

He plays scared most of the time then decides to turn on a switch and play like an all star..

Why does he hold back at all is the question?!

The first 2 periods he was abysmal!!! Probably our worst player in the ice. Couldnt cycle, turnovers, afraid of contact and was a liability defensively...then 17min left in the game he's skating like McDavid..... Why?!

He has all the potential but chooses when to show it... It's selfish and ruins the flow of the team. You wanna be a hero? Play the full 60 minutes and empty your f***in tank like the rest of the guys and not save it for the last 15min of the game to look like a hero.

I'm more pissed and the praise he's getting..... People saying he was the best player for the Leafs last night.. WATCH THE WHOLE FRICKEN GAME! Besides the McDavid moments at the end of the game he was invisible... And he couldn't burry it when he was good.
I think the key to unlock Willy is for the coach to tell him, "F*** coming back into our own end, I want you to float at their blueline and poach. Go get'em tiger".

Seriously. He will terrorize Florida's defence. And we won't have to get mad at him for playing disinterested in the Leafs zone.

I think this is the game to start Woll. At worst we get same level goaltending, at best we get a lights out performance.
If he can't handle it, go back to samsonov for game 4.
Sammy has not looked good, and I'm not talking about 10 bell saves, I'm talking his fundamentals. He's way too jumpy in the net. He has calm moments but when the heat comes its like he's trying too hard.
Game 1 vs Tampa he was a mess. He has settled down a bit since then, but like I just said, when the opposition turns it up, he gets erattic.
Go with Woll is my say

I actually feel that Keefe should just worry bout 2 things.

1- who is he going to start?
My gut says stay with Sammy.

He has made a few fumbles but overall has also come up with big saves and enough to hold us in the games.
He also (as we know during interviews) struts is own type of swag, and OUR team does belive in him.

2- Why use the blender method? Keefe has to create solid lines and stick to them.

I have a feeling with all this line juggling because maybe the excuse is "we have tons of talent to throw them out where-ever.

This kinda leads to the mentality of "we can outscore our problems"

IN MY MIND - haha I feel coming up with solid lines forces those lines to creatse their own space, or react to defensive plays...as a line,...as a team.

So letting the lines find out who they really are as competitors gives them a better chance of knowing who the other coach throws out against them and not worrying about which line and who am I playing with tonight to know my style???...(kinda feel)

Also as I have mentioned which in my books is real important is- STAND THE PUCK UP FOR YOUR TEAMMATES!! When 1 of ours takes a suspectul hit,..or crosscheck in the neck,...the other 4 teammates should instinctfully lock up with the opposition, throw a few (possibly) but be more agressive in protecting and standing up for each other!

That creates more team chemistry, which leads to momentum swings and overall inspiration.

GO TEAM GO! DO THIS^!

So why is that not ok to criticize them and only ok to bow at their feet? They have to score goals for us to win. They deserve to get called out when they score 0 goals and we are down 0-2. That's on them. Don't give me bullshit excuses. They supposed to be the so called "leaders" of this team
They are soft and busy floating

Lol, sorry about that then. Didn't mean to jump on you. :)
all good. I think Matthews and Marner and Nylander deserve criticism for the turnovers leading to the 2nd and 3rd goal. and yeah they gotta cash some of these chances. cannot agree that they were floating or unmotivated or playing on the perimeter.

Everyone here knows why they spaced out these games so much, and it has everything to do with Canadians flying to Florida for Saturday and flying home Tuesday. Now it’s fly Sunday, and Thursday. 4 day difference, and 4 work days compared to two.

Still think we are filling their rink, even with their outrageous ticket prices.

I’d have said they didn’t want to compete against the nba for tv ratings, but the games wouldn’t have overlapped, and the Heat play Wednesday at the same time as well.

Has to be something with American tv wishes.

noo Miami Heat play in Miami. Florida Panthers play in Sunrise, FL about 55km away.
I think people were confused maybe because they used to share an arena. Idk how long ago that was but maybe they thought it was still a thing.

Tkachuk has 0 goals as well! I guess he's been a non-factor too, right? That's how this works?
Has Tkachuk made a play that led to a turnover at his own blue line for Marner to make a cross ice assist on the GWG? Or has points on 4 of his teams 7 goals scored in the series and all at 5v5 while Marner has 1 point and it was on the PP. Probably should of tried to find a better example instead of Tkachuk.

None of that other stuff matters, apparently. According to the post I quoted, absolutely nothing matters except goals. Tkachuk has none, so by the logic in that post, he's been useless. Maybe you should tell the person I responded to that more than that matters.
