Edmonton Stars came to play, wonder when the leafs will wake up hopefully tomorrow night or its curtains
They aren't scoring and aren't setting up anything at 5v5 so far this series and had terrible giveaways that lead to the goals against that cost us the game. Actually I think Matthews set up that Knies goal so he's the only 1 with a 5v5 point. Rest of our 5v5 offence is from the bottom 6. If they don't want to score goals, fine, but somebody has to score in the top 6 and those 4 make up 6 of them and make all the money.None of that other stuff matters, apparently. According to the post I quoted, absolutely nothing matters except goals. Tkachuk has none, so by the logic in that post, he's been useless. Maybe you should tell the person I responded to that more than that matters.
quoted for truth!
The amount of chances Tavares has flubbed everytime Willy makes plays, always the last guy in on a backcheck b/c dude can't keep up with the speed of the game and is playing center.
I have the same issue with Gio. He is freakin almost 40 yr old, can't keep up with the speed of the game but pinches like he is freakin 25.
Last game Lily takes the hit to make the play behind the net, Tavares falls like a moron and Gio is taking a stroll in the park letting his guy roam free and they score and guess what> everyone was blaming Lily. Really ticked me off
That's a pretty bad and incorrect description of what our core 4 have done, but you also seemed to have missed the point. If goals are all that matter, which is what the person I responded to argued, then Tkachuk would be considered useless this round. If you disagree with that, take it up with him. They aren't scoring and aren't setting up anything at 5v5 so far this series and had terrible giveaways that lead to the goals against that cost us the game. I just read their post and they said paying these 4 40 million to be held in check and off the scoreboard is why we're down 0-2. I think maybe you missed the point they were making. Other than that picture they never said anything goals being the only thing that mattered but it does show that it's a problem when your core 4 have 0 goals in this series so far. Have they played well? Sure, but they aren't getting on the scoreboard like the poster said and that's a huge problem unlike Tkachuk who is in on over 50% of his teams offensive production atm and would be the 4th highest paid player on our team. Will the offence come? Probably and I hope so but they can't be making turnovers like they did last game and not produce any offence. That's a pretty bad and incorrect description of what our core 4 have done, but you also seemed to have missed the point. yeah idk. before I assumed we only kept Holl in because of PK but our PK has been perfect in the 3 games he's sat out and Gio isn't on our top PK unit I believe and Gus and Lili would be a better PP2 duo since we usually go 2 D on it mostly.Dunno how you bench Gustaffson for a guy who's 39 years old and has been on the ice for the most goals against on the team during the playoffs. I mean it's not like he might have some chemistry with his fellow countryman Liljegren or something. Unreal.
Keefe is the worst NHL coach I've ever seen.
If you define "slot area" as outside both faceoff dots I guess you're correct. That's incorrect
He's faced a ton of high quality chances from within the slot area from some of our best players
They made a whole homemade chart and talked exclusively about goals, because looking at overall impact would have hurt their point. Tkachuk is a good example because it shows how ridiculous that premise that only goals matter is. The biggest reason we're down 2 is a massive discrepancy in goaltending.I just read their post and they said paying these 4 40 million to be held in check and off the scoreboard is why we're down 0-2. Haven't said much the last couple of days to avoid the doom and gloom.
Sports are funny sometimes.
How many teams go down 2-0 and win and make it 2-1... well I approx know that answer.. about 13% to 15 or so in the NHL ... but how many teams play to a 1-1 tie and then go down to 2-1 and still win the series? Probably considerably higher.
So if Leafs Win the next one... what's the difference. It's so odd really that teams get down by 2 and think it's over.
Sports are are a funny thing sometimes. You never know.
Of course of course. So it is the Florida's owners horse that is the problem then?
That already happened. That's why he's so bad at his job.I hope George Parros gets a concussion and no one gives a single f***.
I agree, I stated most of your sentiments the other day. It's a good strategy.I think this is the game to start Woll. At worst we get same level goaltending, at best we get a lights out performance.
If he can't handle it, go back to samsonov for game 4.
Sammy has not looked good, and I'm not talking about 10 bell saves, I'm talking his fundamentals. He's way too jumpy in the net. He has calm moments but when the heat comes its like he's trying too hard.
Game 1 vs Tampa he was a mess. He has settled down a bit since then, but like I just said, when the opposition turns it up, he gets erattic.
Go with Woll is my say

Not much of a betting man but I love the confidence. Go Leafs Go.Leafs are going to win the next 4
Go ahead, bet me

Getting the Joe Thornton vibe. Only playing because of his name right nowGio is a fossil. He shouldn't really play this series at all.
5 games in 9 nights for the Panthers with some OT sprinkled in. These extra days off in Florida benefits them for sure.
Thanks Bettman!
