His horse isn't even in the race now? I want my Saturday night hockey game...
Talk to ESPN. I would think that running their business profitably takes precedence over the whims of one owner from a league that most of their audience considers inconsequential. The Panther's owner is so low in pecking order with ESPN that to suggest he is responsible for network scheduling is the most laughable notion this board
Florida's owner horse that he had to watch and couldnt have a game on Saturday, is now not in the race

This f***ing league man, literally Mickey Mouse shit.
Do you think that ESPN is going to show an NHL Playoff game in opposition to the ABC double header NBA playoff scheduled for the same time slot? Both ESPN and ABC are owned by Disney. Heads would roll at ESPN and at NHL Headquarters if they scheduled an NHL game in direct competition. The Miami Heat are playing a playoff game in Miami Saturday night as well. If you don't think that is a more important consideration for schedule makers, I don't know what to tell you.

Reactions: leafs in five
Willie the other night all during the third period: he showed the domination he is capable of.

The million dollar question now is: if he isn't demonstrating that level of play on Sunday, why not?

The Miami Heat play this afternoon, not at night. And there is a 7pm NHL game tonight, going against the NBA. It's just not ours. There are always going to be NHL/NBA games scheduled at the same times in the first couple of rounds.

Tavares is so ineffective 5 on 5 you might as well just have him out as a PP specialist and if that means having 3 other skating lines and not wasting Nylander when he's on his game. Other than faceoffs and an offensive eruption every 3-4 games, there's not a lot going on with JT. Which is a sad thing to say not even a week after he scored the biggest Leaf goal in decades.

quoted for truth!

The amount of chances Tavares has flubbed everytime Willy makes plays, always the last guy in on a backcheck b/c dude can't keep up with the speed of the game and is playing center.

I have the same issue with Gio. He is freakin almost 40 yr old, can't keep up with the speed of the game but pinches like he is freakin 25.

Last game Lily takes the hit to make the play behind the net, Tavares falls like a moron and Gio is taking a stroll in the park letting his guy roam free and they score and guess what> everyone was blaming Lily. Really ticked me off

So it is the Florida's owners horse that is the problem then?

Lets see how the leafs response to the hit by Bennett

I don't expect them to drop the gloves but some targetted hitting would be nice

Watching the Canes play last night was something else. Fast with a tremendous hit, Hischer got absolutely gutted by Kotkanemi
These are not players you would expect to hit but they bought into a system

Rod is making the most of his team even with injuries.

Lets see who stands up or shows up for leafs

Andersen with a 0.97 GAA and .963% SV% (yea only 3 games he has played but still). He also has decent goal support thus far too.

This is what pisses me off about him.

He plays scared most of the time then decides to turn on a switch and play like an all star..

Why does he hold back at all is the question?!

The first 2 periods he was abysmal!!! Probably our worst player in the ice. Couldnt cycle, turnovers, afraid of contact and was a liability defensively...then 17min left in the game he's skating like McDavid..... Why?!

He has all the potential but chooses when to show it... It's selfish and ruins the flow of the team. You wanna be a hero? Play the full 60 minutes and empty your f***in tank like the rest of the guys and not save it for the last 15min of the game to look like a hero.

I'm more pissed and the praise he's getting..... People saying he was the best player for the Leafs last night.. WATCH THE WHOLE FRICKEN GAME! Besides the McDavid moments at the end of the game he was invisible... And he couldn't burry it when he was good.

I'm just gonna say it. If Knies is out I am putting the Wayner in.

He can at least bring some energy, he is vocal, he will hit, he will go to the net and he wll not allow abuses.

Furthermore, tell me he isn't chomping at the bit to play in the playoffs one more time?

The team needs a bit more heart out there. His driving to the net alone wll wake others up.

I can't imagine aMiami Heat audience and a Florida Panthers audience are going to have that much overlap.

Let the Snow Birds from Ontario fill up the rink and tune in for HNIC. Problem solved.

If the Wayne Train could come off the top rope on Bennett and Tkachuk it would be a acceptable to me after all that Wrestlemania garbage the Maurice crew brought to Game 2.

How long does it take to transition from NBA court to NHL arena though? Heat game is at 3:30 and will probably end by like 5:30-6. Doubt that leaves any time to make the change unless we played at like 10 PM but nobody wants that.

They don’t play in the same arena.

I doubt that was ever the reason.

First day opening any hockey related social media since the last loss. This board and other places like it are killing my love for the game with the complete over reactions after any negative things happen. Like I understand if we lost the series in a sweep the reaction the past few days, but a couple of close losses where we had tons of chances but lacked bounces and everyone is fired, everyone is traded, doom and gloom and genral toxicness.

Main boards no point venturing there. Trolls allowed to run wild. And it sucks because I love talking hockey but seems there aren't really any spaces to do so where when we win we aren't sweeping our way to the cup and when we lose we aren't the worst franchise ever.

Embarrassing.

I'm dropping $10 on the Panthers to win the series, did the same thing last series for Tampa, Leafs won in 6. The hockey gods are angry that we've been rooting for their success, a sacrifice is necessary to earn their favor again. $10 on Florida for the series, Leafs will probably win 4 in a row.
I did that just before the series started lol
If the leafs gonna lose and f*** around, I wanna atleast make some money off it.
But go leafs go!

Does ESPN set the schedule for the NHL? I honestly didn't know that. I thought they just paid for broadcast rights.
