Talk to ESPN. I would think that running their business profitably takes precedence over the whims of one owner from a league that most of their audience considers inconsequential. The Panther's owner is so low in pecking order with ESPN that to suggest he is responsible for network scheduling is the most laughable notion this boardHis horse isn't even in the race now? I want my Saturday night hockey game...
Do you think that ESPN is going to show an NHL Playoff game in opposition to the ABC double header NBA playoff scheduled for the same time slot? Both ESPN and ABC are owned by Disney. Heads would roll at ESPN and at NHL Headquarters if they scheduled an NHL game in direct competition. The Miami Heat are playing a playoff game in Miami Saturday night as well. If you don't think that is a more important consideration for schedule makers, I don't know what to tell you.Florida's owner horse that he had to watch and couldnt have a game on Saturday, is now not in the race
This f***ing league man, literally Mickey Mouse shit.

Tavares is so ineffective 5 on 5 you might as well just have him out as a PP specialist and if that means having 3 other skating lines and not wasting Nylander when he's on his game. Other than faceoffs and an offensive eruption every 3-4 games, there's not a lot going on with JT. Which is a sad thing to say not even a week after he scored the biggest Leaf goal in decades.
So it is the Florida's owners horse that is the problem then? The Miami Heat play this afternoon, not at night. And there is a 7pm NHL game tonight, going against the NBA. It's just not ours. There are always going to be NHL/NBA games scheduled at the same times in the first couple of rounds.
Lets see how the leafs response to the hit by Bennett
I don't expect them to drop the gloves but some targetted hitting would be nice
Watching the Canes play last night was something else. Fast with a tremendous hit, Hischer got absolutely gutted by Kotkanemi
These are not players you would expect to hit but they bought into a system
Rod is making the most of his team even with injuries.
Lets see who stands up or shows up for leafs

This is what pisses me off about him.Willie the other night all during the third period: he showed the domination he is capable of.
The million dollar question now is: if he isn't demonstrating that level of play on Sunday, why not?
The big question Panther and Heat fans would ask would be ..."who schedules a Panthers game on the same day as a Heat game?" Advertisers would ask the same question.either way nobody is going to watch hockey

I'm just gonna say it. If Knies is out I am putting the Wayner in.
He can at least bring some energy, he is vocal, he will hit, he will go to the net and he wll not allow abuses.
How long does it take to transition from NBA court to NHL arena though? Heat game is at 3:30 and will probably end by like 5:30-6. Doubt that leaves any time to make the change unless we played at like 10 PM but nobody wants that.I can't imagine aMiami Heat audience and a Florida Panthers audience are going to have that much overlap.
Let the Snow Birds from Ontario fill up the rink and tune in for HNIC. Problem solved.

hmm idk why I saw people say they did then. They don’t play in the same arena.
I doubt that was ever the reason.Florida's owner horse that he had to watch and couldnt have a game on Saturday, is now not in the race

I did that just before the series started lolI'm dropping $10 on the Panthers to win the series, did the same thing last series for Tampa, Leafs won in 6. The hockey gods are angry that we've been rooting for their success, a sacrifice is necessary to earn their favor again. $10 on Florida for the series, Leafs will probably win 4 in a row.
Does ESPN set the schedule for the NHL? I honestly didn't know that. I thought they just paid for broadcast rights.Talk to ESPN.
