Especially in his own end, he has a tendency to try these cute moves that he's probably going to have to cut out fast. Other than that, I do think you want to see him bring in as much of his transition game as possible as it's one of the things he's best at. The thing that sets Knies apart from most prospects is he has many different ways to play to be effective. Unlike a Robertson or a Sandin, you can feel comfortable plugging him into the bottom of your lineup and telling him to play a safe and physical game and know that you're still playing him to his strengths

I feel comfortable with Knies that as he’s translating his college game to pros he still has the physical makeup to do a lot of other tasks. Not so with Sandin and Robertson. Not worried about this kid but obviously there will be growing pains.

Leafs should quick sub Samsonov out of every single game remaining and just play the rotating EBUGs if the league is really that intent on not even letting them do what is within the rules (recalling Woll with a $0 cap charge using an emergency exception after playing the last game a goalie short).

Sorry why can’t Will be recalled?
I could be completely off the plot but my understanding is it is to late in the season to put Murray on LTIR. So to be able to sign Knies they couldn't fit Woll in...league wouldn't let him be an emergency recall for tonight because the Leafs used the extra cap space on signing Knies and not filling in a 2nd goalie.

"Something tightened up with him after practice," Keefe said of Lafferty.

All I could find. Can't be anything serious or perhaps even real..lol

Sorry why can’t Woll be recalled?

Because the NHL hates Toronto. Like honestly. Yesterday Boston recalled 6 players on an emergency basis with no issue, but the Leafs can’t emergency recall Woll even though Murray banged his head and is well known to have injury issues.

There’s no good reason to not allow it, especially when this game has playoff implications for Florida and two other teams. It’s bush league that Woll can’t be recalled, but Vegas can parade Mark Stone a week before the playoffs and Arizona can acquire all the retired guys they want to reach the cap floor.

This league is f***ed.

Like Papetti says, the parties with the biggest issue to this will be Pittsburgh and the Islanders if the ATO has to play and he gets torched. Not our fault this league has it out for the Leafs and won’t permit an emergency call up.

I honestly do not give a flying #uck at a rolling donut about Pittsburgh or the Islanders. Simply don't put yourself in the position of counting on another team for whether you make it into the playoffs or not.

This is not new. I very distinctly remember the Leafs needing NJ to win a game to punch their own playoff ticket. NJ decided to rest Bordeur, the backup got torched, and Toronto missed the playoffs.

A team with nothing to play for resting stars and starters is nothing new, and nothing that the whining teams wouldn't do themselves if their position in the standings were reversed.

Our responsibility is to do what's best for our players. Everyone else can find their own way in......

Buddy I couldn’t care less about the Penguins or Islanders, my point is that it’s a bad look for the NHL. Like the Leafs should do what’s best for themselves, no argument. But if the NHL gave a shit about competitive parity they’d allow the Leafs to make the emergency recall. If God forbid Samsonov gets hurt in the first and the ATO has to come in and gets his doors blown off Pittsburgh and Long Island are going to wonder why the f*** Boston was allowed 6 emergency recalls yesterday but Toronto wasn’t when their seasons are on the line.

His hands look silky smooth to me.

Obviously can get better... but nope, he has good hands.

His hands in tight seem to be particularly good.

I think his hands are some of his best attributes.

People are acting like he is some big unskilled power forward.

this one shows his hands better

Exact thought I had. When I first watched him I was expecting that type of player but was surprised how much finesse he has in his skating and puck handling. I also think he's very well aware he's not going to be dangling everyone at the NHL level and will pick his spots more wisely.

This, the NHL is a joke.
