Leafs need to address the goaltending.

Jones looks like he can definitely be at the very least a backup NHL goalie, which would be nice to find a solid backup we can lean on. If he keeps up his play, I wouldn’t mind a 2 year deal at around 1.25 million per. gives us some stability in net instead of this constant revolving door of players we have.

I think people are underselling Jones.

He was on dreadful teams, and he played statistically as well as the guy the Kraken signed to a long term deal.
I wonder sometimes if the Kraken flipped a coin on that one? ;)

EDIT:

Hildeby taken out/ not dressed for Marlies line-up today.

Don't read anything into it ... probably a cold or something.
He’s coming up to burn down villages whole!

Ultimately what the Leafs need is a 1B to eat up games for Woll.

While I'm losing faith in Sammy, so far Jones has looked like he may be ready for that job..I don't really have too much interest in moving assets for another goalie unless it's a clear upgrade on Jones.

Jones just needs to be adequate and quiet, not outlier awful and emotionally volatile.

no goalie no cup

everybody continues to ignore this #1 rule

And the Leafs continue to break it

That's the one place where I disagreed with Dubas completely. NHL general managers routinely undervalue their goaltending.

With the Colorado cup win being the glaring exception, teams don't win cups without above average goaltending. Invariably, whenever people cite a cup winners great team defense the real culprit is a netminder standing on his head.

Jones can hold the fort for the time being. He's been a #1 before, and he knows the rigours of the position. He was a top 15 goalie at one point too when he was with the Sharks.

I was leery of Jones. Be he's not as old as I expected (I thought he was 36, not 33), and with Samsonov self-imploding, it's time to roll with him until Woll gets back. They really have no choice. He's done well all things considered so far.

Not sure there is a worthwhile goaltending solution right now considering the cost it'd take. Unless Jones self-implodes as well, where Treliving is forced to do something, I don't want to see a move just for the sake of making a move.

Samsonov is done.

He lost the net to Woll last year when it mattered most.

If Keefe was reasonable, Woll would have started the playoffs

I can see Jones being the starter by the playoffs.

I’m not making any excuses. What a stupid thing to say to me. He played decent. The team infront of him sucked. Goal tending has been a issue here for a long time. Tonight it wasn’t the biggest issue. Fml.

Any decent play he gave them tonight means NOTHING after that 3rd.

That's not a goal an NHL caliber goalie let's in.
