But Leafs Talk was ball-washing him saying he was smart to give McMann more minutes?

He did well playing McWheels, no doubt, although to be fair -- it's about god damn time! lol
I don't mind some experimental moves, but playing these guys in situations where they've proven over time they're not capable, drives me batty. I know, for the most part, we are in garbage time with the season in that we're not moving up or moving down, but why not just solidify things a bit and get into a winning habit, especially when we've had a penchant for blowing leads.

as much as i hate to say it MM runs the PP. PK good too with MM on it. Benoit needs to play wth?????? brodie and gio retire yesterday please. shanahan is still here? AM wth is up with you? 3-0 at home, pp in ot and they still lose lol. leafy things. Nylander should NOT be on the PK. Keefe needs to use line 3 and 4 better.

Leafs post game made a good point- why is reilly on the sidewall on the pp? just get a forward there.

I said earlier that they look like the same team they have been for the last few years. I don't see playoff success with that forward group or that goaltending. They will easily get through the first round because the third seed in the Metro will not be a good team, but they may not get much further than that.
Agreed. Theyre pretty much the same team as the Leafs. Good, but boring as hades to watch play. I hope these too never meet in a playoff series.

It's been like this from the beginning of time... a team goes up by 2 or 3 goals and then you can bet a thousand bucks that they're going to be penalized right after it... because you know, the refs have to make the game interesting

Happens all the time since the day we were all born and even before that... the league is just crooked that way, always has been

Regardless, the Leafs were gifted a powerplay in overtime so it's not so easy to say the refs were against us when they flat out gave us a free chance to win the game..
The refs weren’t against us. They were incompetent. But one has to question why we are one of the teams with least PPs in the league?

Just woke up. A goal in last 10 seconds of the second and 2 in last two minutes of the third.

Sounds about right for this team. Looks like they are getting ready for playoff hockey.
Comments like this frustrate me, not just you, I have heard it a bunch of time, as if its some sort of a Toronto thing that permeates the air and water no matter who we get it can't be shaken.... talk like that is sad, and just shows how negative some of this fanbase really is.

Overall, the team played amazing!

4 Breakaway goals, just when the canes made a mistake, we made them pay for it.... so it seems to me like 42 minutes of greatness is being shadowed by 3 minutes of moments that are not only fixable, but we are missing the key guys in both special teams.

What happened here today, is easily fixed, there is no reason to act like this team has some sort of permanent cooties. I bet you they will come out stronger against Philly with this 1 point rather than if they got 2 points. Maybe its better to get 3 points out of 4 than being overconfident and only getting 2. You never know, what happened today is a teachable and easily fixable moment.

I'll take the 42 minutes of hard nosed play and call it a positive for the team. No need to doom and gloom, sure wish it turned out better, but I think in the long run the team will be better for it.

Thank you leafs, I had a good time watching today's game. I wish it ended better for the squad, it did feel like a gut punch, but the team we faced was no slouch, and our key guys were out. Thanks to the players for a great effort, especially Samsinov!.

Not all doom and gloom but playoffs are all about details. Giving up goals at those times is a reflection on not being able to address that.

Anyway. I literally woke up. Will watch the replay.

0-8 against BOS, CAR and FLA this season.
We beat Florida in our last matchup. But yes, still a pathetic record and if you want to feel more embarrassed just throw in our records against Buffalo and Ottawa if you like.
