There is something about game 7 that has me excited. I just cannot stop myself from believing in this team. I have a better feeling going in this year than in years past. I guess you could say I'm ready to be hurt again.

God bless your soul.

HEDMAN got Kerfoot's stick in Hedman's chin area. And then really sold it.

Watch it closely. Hedman actually tried to stick lift Kerfoot and as a result hits himself in the face with the stick he just tried to lift.
Will check.

Yep, it was the fans that lost this one.
Fans who act like patronizing twats after every tiny bit of success or win and channel all their energy into hating & talking down other fans for their lack of amnesia are as if not more toxic than the i told you so crowd.

I'm a Leafs/Browns fan because my dad in his 70's loves them. It's one of our connections. Being one of these neutral or non-existent fan type person would feel like stabbing him in the back. Has been being a Leafs/Browns fans sucked? Absolutely. But, the moments of happiness of joint celebration has been worth it. And, to cheer for any team cuz they are better/"exciting" would be a sell out move.

Obviously pessimistic, but cheering for us until the least whistle. Even if I don't agree with moves or certain hires. This is my team. I'll be a fan long after any player/managment is around. So, even if I'd like to be proven right, it is strongly outweighed by just wanint "One before I die."
The bolded is literally me. The players come and go, we have some greats right now, but I will be cheering for this team long after they are gone. In my high school yearbook, we had to write a quote or something about something we want to happen before we die (wasn't worded that way), I of course wrote "...to see the Leafs win a cup before I die"... that was written as a 17 year old almost 30 years ago. Seems like yesterday.

I am not ready for this season to be over.

Pretty gutting loss as I thought we were the better team and the game wasn't decided based on merit due to some whacky officiating.

However game 7 Saturday night at home in Toronto against the two time defending Cup champs is one way to flip the switch on your narrative.

Another game 7 lose might be the final nail in the coffin for a lot of people in this fan base. All the young kids who have grown up with this team and seen nothing but failure.
I hear that every year and 99% are back in the playoffs the next year. Plus, Leafs tickets are like memberships to Rosedale or Toronto Golf Club. They aren't given up until you are 6 feet deep.

It's called veteran savvy, and we have literally none. It is a part of the reason we lose every season the way we do.
That gets called 99% of the time, season or playoffs. You are always responsible for our stick... so get it the f*** outta there.

If I was the toronto maple leafs owner I would be on the phone with Gary Bettman threatening to stop revenue sharing with the league unless Bettman does something about these anti leaf refs

Not surprised about the reffing ... I'd practically guarantee the refs were told this needs to go 7 .. and all they had to do was provide the opportunity for Tampa to capitalize.

Well, except for the multiple times a game our guys take sticks or elbows to the face with no calls...

That's my point. We have seen that the Leafs usually get called for stuff they don't call other American teams for. So why do we think that will change in game 7?
Cause they pull that shit Saturday game 7 and the fans will literally egg the refs. It’ll be like the Blue jays game 5 vs the rangers

So, uh, would you call the Amazing Tampa Bay Diving Show a great example of class?
That's not the type of class I'm talking about. I'm referring to the result of incredible effort, and incredible execution aligning. The Leafs have a horrible tendency in these elimination type games, to either bring the heart, effort and intensity, but lack in the execution department, or come out sharp in terms of execution, but get out played and out worked.

You need both factors to come together in the playoffs, for a prolonged period of time. Toronto struggles, mightily, to achieve that synergy.

My generation has never seen a championship, but I got to hear about them from my father. He got to see a lot of them in the 50's and 60's. Telling me about the greats, the wins and joy of it. What stories have we got to tell the next generation? Yea, Gilmoure scored a cool OT goal... Gretzky and Fraser f***ed us, Sundin was a great centre and Matthews scored 60. Yippee f***in yay.

Just to say, the link to any kind of winning is fading, and I think with that some of the passion may fade... there are probably enough of us yuks where there is no real impact, but the longer this goes on, the chances do grow greater.

No doubt you are right about the tickets.

If your theory is true, that's beyond dumb. What Leaf's pull in for the league in later series would be massive. Was the reffing questionable? Absolutely. If the league has decided Tampa going for 3 is more valuable than the Leafs chasing the Cup, they are god damn lucky they aren't publicly traded.
