I mean Bettman clearly has an ego about these things.

I really don't think anything is intentional. I think it's a poor standard of officiating that runs away.

They miss a call, they get jeered into a second. That makes a tie game and they panic from there so they put the whistles away. A better or more confident ref likely ignores a call he can't see, like kampf, or makes the OT calls knowing what opportunities he caused before the whistle goes away

Just coming to remind, none of this matters if you win Saturday. You've been the better team, really, in every game so far. One more W, and you can put everything that happened tonight in the rearview mirror.

We are not some "go to war" type playoff team either. We are a very disciplined team relative to the rest of the teams in the playoffs. We've literally taken our physical players out of the lineup.

Nah, it's naturally just a coincidence that one of the least penalized teams in the NHL for the last 6 years turn into the Broad Street Bullies when the playoff start. Every year, like clockwork.

I can give you a thorough breakdown as to why the Leafs lost each series the last 6 years and the refs aren’t to blame for any of it. There’s no conspiracy, but if that’s what you want to believe then go be paranoid

JT had a fall in Tampa's zone too... ice looked like garbage in OT.

But that's what you have to deal with. That's why they just need to get greasy goals, get pucks to the net.

I think Tavares was a skate issue, he was getting it repaired after thay shift

Honestly, I am really not pissed or mad at any players, Keefe or Dubas after the loss today. Am I disappointed, yep. But they played a good game and had plenty of chances to win.
Refs didn’t do them any favours and Vas was good in OT but Campbell was equally as good in the 3rd and OT too. He got beat by one of those greasy goals.
It is very different than Game 5 against BJs or Game 5 and 6 against the Habs. As the Leafs actually led in the 3rd period and was playing low event Hockey the whole game. They showed up tonight. Something they didn’t do in their last 5 elimination games(I count Game 4 against BJs too bc they really only showed up for 5mins with an empty net).
I think they will do it on Sat if they play like they did tonight.

Kerfoot cost the Leafs the first goal on a giveaway and the 3rd goal taking the penalty that put Leafs down 5 on 3 for almost a full 2 minutes. He also had a crap ton of giveaways. And why Engvall over Simmonds? Simmonds has scored 30 goals in this league and tough as nails. The only thing that can fix Engvalls hands is a chisel.

It's 2 pretty damn even teams. It's a shame for either to go out this early. This playoff format needs to be tossed.

the Hockey Guy points this out every year. people complain about the format but if you do other combinations it pretty much aligns up roughly the same way anyway.

The Leafs were first to many many pucks tonight and Engvall is part of that. 5 on 5 we are the better team with speed advantages on almost every line. Go to Simmonds and get what? There are no messages to send or faces to punch in a game 7... the lineup is fine as is. The only change i would like to see is Rielly on unit 2 PP and someone with a shot at the top of unit 1.

People really believe this? That the league tells the refs to toss aside all their professional integrity and favour another team? That’s fantasy land. Human error happens and the game is so fast that sometimes the refs miss, that’s just sports
