Even worse than their performance was their “effort” … Marner looks like any creativity he used to play with was coached out of him after a few years in the NHL. Totally uninspired to watch him skate into a corner and just have the Dman take the puck away from him like taking away a baby’s candy
Either that or his one trick pony style was figured out.

Is that even an option? It feels like we might need to just rethink the makeup of this team unfortunately. I hate to say it but no matter what pieces you bring the top 6 don’t ever seem to dominate the way they should. Our bottom 6 has actually be great and that’s all Dubas. So what if it’s just crappy luck of the draft? I don’t know at this point
I am looking at Dougie

I'll be really upset if they fire Dubas but not Shanahan. Shanahan needs to go.
Can't remember from where but I heard that the mood around Leafs organization is pretty grim knowing that this year is their last chance. Including Shanahan.

I feel like if Dubas is let go, he's going to succeed with another NHL team. He clearly knows how to evaluate talent and finding value contracts, he's just been so awful at negotiations and far too soft with his stars.

l can see that. He’ll learn from his experience here and won’t make those mistakes again.

I think people looking at the coaches, assistant coaches, GM, whoever, are really letting the players off the hook. Our top players have looked very very subpar, or just haven't been able to finish. It doesn't matter who is up in the stands, or behind the bench. JT, Marner, Matthews have to be better. I think Nylander has actually been pretty good so far this year.

As it was in the playoffs last year, the depth is the only reason we are in the games so far this year. Without the big boys going, this team (or any team) isn't going to go far.

Bruins thought the same thing and didn't qualify him; Bruins fans were dancing and cheering... meanwhile in Toronto; a guy with fashionable glasses thought otherwise....

They thought it was a smart idea to invest more money in Folingo who just got injured. Not sure if they're still cheering

How long before Marner gets boo'ed. Serious question. His name is trending after almost every game. In the Matthews' era, I can only remember Andersen, Gardiner, and the team itself getting boo'ed. It'll be the first time in a long while a star player has gotten this treatment.

I like things about Dubas. I feel the drafting has been above average when he's not giving picks away. But he has no business as a GM. He should probably be a scout or something. Perhaps he can grow into the role, but I've seen no evidence of that here. He's as bad today as he was in his first year.

Just no excuses tonight. Way too lose, low intensity plays. Sure, Keefe can bench depth guys all he wants, and probably Nylander, but he'll show me real fortitude if he sat Marner's ass on the bench for a bit. Matthews was brutal as well.

Oh and flush that stacked PP unit, they want to pass it into the net and it's looked way too stagnant and predictable with Matthews back.

So marner isn't playing well because of Dubas?

How exactly does that work?

So when you don't have a great day at work it is because of your boss' boss?

I guess I've being it wrong.

Dubas is the adult. He was supposed to protect Marner from signing a deal he can't live up to like a parent protects their child from eating too much candy....

/S

Keefe is an idiot. Am I missing something? Is Campbell injured? He had 3 days rest.

NEVER PLAY HUTCHINSON AGAIN. Why in hell did Dubas sign this clown? I hate this type of game where the leafs work their asses off for a goal and the sharks come right back down and score on the next shot. That should have been an easy 2 points. And Kerfoot has to go. What a waste of 3.5 million bucks.
