The Kings are obviously worse then Tampa but holy shit.

If anyone thought we played well they should watch the oilers they are everywhere

They're playing like we did in game 1 why did we never again come out with that level of energy and agression?

The team did not show up to play in Game 2, Game 4, turtled in Game 6 and then tonight in a deciding game the offense still did not show up.

The GM"s philosophy is wrong to begin with. He went with offense heavy mindset with his team and his team does not even produce. Heck did not even show up for a few games.

Did you watch the Canes game tonight? they were skating bruins to the ground. Not even one shift where canes did not skate hard or play hard.
Correct. And watching oilers they are all over Kings.

Crushed boys.

Crushed.

This year had a different feel to it but they still choked it.

Last year hurt so much more, man. We had a f***ing red carpet to the finals and we chocked.

This year, even if we get by Tampa, I don't think we're the favourites in any series afterwards (Florida into Carolina into Avs).

Didn't watch. But truth be told, I haven't watched a game 7 since the first Boston series. It's easier to stay somewhat detached and not be affected and invested so emotionally with this team.

It's just a game and I'm learning to leave it as that. This offseason however, I don't think I'll be railing for great change. Kinda at the point where I'm beyond numb from past season's disappointments. Apathy has been creeping in for a while.

Death by a thousand cuts is the story of being a Maple Leafs fan.

Not really sure what to do tbh. They looked good, probably played better than Tampa the last two games, but despite all of their talent just couldn't pull out the win. None of the players really looked bad tonight either to be honest, but unfortunately no one was able to step up and put in the type of clutch performance that you need to win in the playoffs.

Oh well. I don't really invest much time or emotion anymore in this team (skipped most of the regular season and only tune in if they make the playoffs), but I feel for the fans who've been sticking it out the last few seasons. They deserve better.

We're cursed.

It's not a curse.

We literally went up against a powerful Caps team in 2017
Bruins powerhouse 2018
Bruins powerhouse 2019
Columbus was shitty
Montreal was a choke
Tampa Back to Back Cup Champs

This playoff alignment is horse shit. This should be the ECF and not a first round matchup. When you finish where we did in the standings the prize should not be Tampa!

Stupid league. Hell if it wasn't for covid we prob would have played Bruins, Tampa, or Florida the last two years.

The alignment is horse shit.

Illya Mikaheyev
19 playoff games. 2 goals 2 assists. Both of those goals came in the same game
Only because Engvall felt so bad for him and passed it to Mika

Really dont' know why Leafs nation loves this guy so much.

Kampf, same thing. Where was he tonight? or game 6? He should be the 4th liner

Engvall sucked too

Our 3rd line was the difference

and F U Keefe for not stacking the line. Having a love affair with Bunting
mikheyev lost a lot of money in free agency for his poor playoff performance.

Need to shift more capspace towards defence and goaltending..

That much seems obvious.
We also need less perimeter offence. Need a couple guys who can play inside the faceoff dots in the offensive zone and generate, consistently.

Tampa exposed this roster for being a perimeter team in game 7, and it was ugly.

Big paycheques and living a very pleasant life, sweet and calculated exactly what Chelios had to say about him.

You trade Marner away not aiming for getting equal value back. You trade him because you free up 11 million in your cap and you can use that money to get a true #1 goalie and a depth defenseman. Can't trade JT because of the NMC.
Ok, whose is going to give the Leafs that true # 1 goalie and dept defenseman for Marner. Do you think Tampa will. Hell No they won't. # 1 proven goaltenders are not plentiful, infact are scarce and the teams that have one won't give them up for Marner because odds are there are way more talented d-mens and forwards than top notch goaltenders. You should know that because the leafs have made many trades at the goaltender posiition to fix it.

Nah, alignment doesn't matter for really any year other than this one. And even still, TB isn't a powerhouse team this year

Twitter not making me feel better right now;

If someone told you that Mitch marner would record 3 assists in the final 5 postseason games and not record a shot in game 7 while playing 24 minutes of hockey.... would you believe the leafs lost to the Two time Defending Stanley cup Champs?

Yes I certainly would be surprised if they didn't lose. We couldn't even get it done and Brayden Point only played 5 minutes.

Like the Boston series, another "interesting one" for the Leafs. The usual corporate Yes Men on Sportsnet (we know who they are), pretend the series has been fair and on the level. MLSE sits silent, not wanting to rock the boat of their earnings.

They will probably can Dubas and Shanny. They were victims of covid and The Fix in three series. In the end, the big contracts cost them. In the end, they need to fire people to give the appearance they actually care. They don't, the seats will remain filled.

The NHL won't get a nickel from me. Sportsnet won't have an advertiser in my focus. Their betting sites, will take a bath along with the $5.2B Sportsnet flushed down the can.

See you all next playoffs. I am out for awhile. I have been gaslit this series like never before in 40 years of watching this game.

It's clearly not the same, and I'm only glad I didn't watch the repeated fiascos in games 3-6.

Hrudey not believing the "bad calls" happened in Game Six. No discussion of 8 PPs, four 5 on 3s or the called back goal. LOL.

I am not giving NHL even a penny. Inflation is high anyway so that automatically cuts my expenses towards the blatant BS that NHL pulls. Even if there wasn't high inflation I wouldn't give NHL any money anymore.
