the team gave it their all. we're so proud. keep them together. run it back. etc.

i just don't get it. if that was their all and they couldn't even get past the 1st round then the team is flawed in a major way.

The team did not show up to play in Game 2, Game 4, turtled in Game 6 and then tonight in a deciding game the offense still did not show up.

The GM"s philosophy is wrong to begin with. He went with offense heavy mindset with his team and his team does not even produce. Heck did not even show up for a few games.

Did you watch the Canes game tonight? they were skating bruins to the ground. Not even one shift where canes did not skate hard or play hard.

Tampa Bay played almost two and a half seasons over the last two years. Approximately 40 more games than our Leafs. Vasi was very average all series. There IS shame in losing to Tampa Bay.

The Dubas fan boys would be erecting a statue to him right now if they won so it's time to admit boy wonder inherited a very good team and managed to succeed at only one thing: losing in the first round.

Dubas has got to go. Keefe has got to go as well. I'd LOVE to see how Keefe does with a less talented roster. He'd be a bottom-5 coach in the NHL. Just an incredibly inept coach.

Tampa played 79 games last year I believe (feel free to correct me)... so less than a full regular season.

Rest of your post is just nonsense

We tinkered with the bottom 6 the whole time Dubas was here, same results. Why do you think all of a sudden next yaer will be different?

Because our young guys have been getting better, and our defense has been getting better. The clearest and easiest thing to improve is the bottom 6.

Obviously though if a Nylander for top dman trade is out there, something like the Seth Jones trade back in the day, you pull the trigger.

I don’t have an answer anymore with this group. There is zero question the talent is there to win, not just a rd but multiple rounds. BUT the mental fortitude just isn’t there. They scored 3 + goals on Vasi almost all series but they could only score 1 today. Something about this group is just missing. While I really don’t think removing talent from this team is the answer, i just find it hard to believe after so many losses that these guys will ever be able to get over the hump in this market. Sad really.

This team did not show up in Game2, Game 4 and had only 4 shots on goal in the 3rd period of Game 6.

I feel for Spezza but the no-shows by this team especially since they haven't won shit was unacceptable. I don't care that tampa didn't show up in game 1 and game 3. Leafs were supposed to play hard entire series. They didn't!
The mistake was made in game 1 and 2 and worrying about Maroon and Perry and who ever was centering them they should have been attacked and not defended against, Jesus fatso can barely get around the ice. all maroon does is play to the camera.. Sitting Spezza for Clifford and Simmons was ill advised

I was watching highlights of our series against the Isles in 2002 just randomly today, and boy, how dramatically different the hockey was back then. Wow. Nowadays doesn't even compare. That was big boy hockey.
That was series was a bloodbath.... I don't know if anyone on this leafs team wouldn't willingly stepped onto that ice. They would've needed to be pushed over the boards.

Ohhh my. This is an elite take from Keefe.

6 straight 1st round playoff exits. But, it's okay, because "We got alot more respect in the handshakes then we have in the past"

If this isn't the ultimate definition of a loser mentality then I don't know what is! 🤣🤣😂😂🤣😅😆😆😅🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😅😅🤣😂🤣😅😅

Kase, Spezza, Engvall, Kerfoot, Clifford should be all gone.

Our bottom 6 needs to be completely overhauled with guys who can compete in a playoff atmosphere.

Too bad I have zero faith in Dubas
Dubas can’t overhaul anything as he has no cap space to do it.

He has no choice but spend another summer going dumpster diving for reclamation projects and veterans that want to play in their home town for the league minimum.

Toughest of draws in the first round bar none;
Played great, got a 3-2 lead in the series but couldn't close, even at home in game 7;
Big boys mostly showed up, we got jobbed by refs again with a call that has never been made before in the playoffs in my watching history, and we lose by one goal;
Cue the vitriol / over reaction / despair etc.

Last year was different, we shit the bed and that was a failure I was very angry about . . .
This year, I just say meh, and point to last year where we shit the bed.

We'll see what happens!

I think the past couple of humiliations sort of skewed perceptions. It's nice that they finally had a normal 1st round series against a great team and held their own, but that's not really any different from their first ever playoff series against Washington. Winning a playoff series isn't even hard, and the Leafs have had 6 cracks at it now. Even teams like Edmonton, Winnipeg, Montreal, etc. have managed to pull it off and those teams all kind of suck

He’s collecting paycheques
he's truly been blessed, not having the media hunt him down for how many years now?

will they ever dig him up and make him face the cameras or does he just continue to sail under the radar?

which begs the question.. who IS the media? Are they owned by Rogers? Bell? A bit of both? If so then that's why lol. If the media is a part of the same company that employs him then that explains everything

Overhauling the bottom 6 is not expensive, just gotta be smart with the pickups. There's no shortage of good vets who want to play here and will do it for cheap. Bunting, Spezza, two recent examples. Perry was trying to sign here as well but Dubas inexplicably passed.
