Yep. As I've said for a few years now there needs to be a core shakeup.

I have no doubts they'll figure themselves out and get rolling. But the last few years have shown me that the regular season doesn't mean anything for this core group. Playoffs are what matters. But they don't inspire me much so far.

It's funny that when you watch the team on the ice in the crucial moments, the overwhelming emotional response is to blow up the Big 4 and do something different. But when it comes down to doing something, the sentiment takes over and you just want to see them keep the band together because the talent is too precious or something. It's such a dead end.

As we play more games, it’s looking more like we might not have it this year.

Klingberg has been awful (we knew he couldn’t play in his own end)

Domi doesn’t fit our system, (can’t hold on to the puck and make a play, and when he does hold on to it, he ends up losing it)

Reaves is useless (we knew this when signing him)

Kampf is our 3rd line center and we are getting no offence from our 3rd line.

Bert isn’t meshing anywhere in the lineup

Our D-zone play in general has been brutal.

Might be time to call up Robertson and McCann etc and have them start trying to push our current roster out of a job and maybe that’ll make them somewhat play better.

That was a fantastic hockey game, like the kind fans of neither team can watch and see a good hockey game. From early/mid-2nd on anyways.

Full marks to the Leafs, battle back, down a D, Sammy rights himself, scorers score, heck of a battle. Really good hockey game to watch as a fan of the sport.

I could care less about random shoot-out loss. Tremendous amount of positives in that game. That was a beauty, like bring that effort every night, please.

He is only out there to take the face-off and then Matthew's jumps on if they win the puck. If not, they have a defensive minded forward out there until they recover the puck. Once they do Matthews jumps over the boards. You rather save his energy for when they have the puck rather than him having to go off because he was playing defense for his entire shift.

.....or... Quit coddling these damn 27 year olds and challenge them to man up. Go out there and win the damn faceoff and win the game. Marner shut the expletive up about bad ice, and bad social media... Go out there and earn respect and positive reviews. Don't sign washed up tough guys to be the silent leaders... Challenge these 27 year 11 million dollar players to lead. Can't take the heat, waive those nmc and hop on a one way to Arizona.

One of our top 4D was hurt in an extremely cynical and dirty play and nobody on this pathetic ***** ass team did anything

This right here encapsulates the entire culture of this Leafs core/coaching/management that we've seen in the last 8 years now.

A very large percentage of the league looks at us as a soft pushover organization right now. For Marchand to make a joke like this after slew footing one of our guys tells me that this is not a serious organization right now.

The high point of the game for me took place in OT. William Nylander tossing Pasta to the ice with intent. Ya, that William Nylander. The only time in the game where a Leaf said FY!

If the team is going to let Marchand 'Marchand' then what's the point? People here bitching about Keefe when the players don't give a rat's ass about looking after their own...I don't get it. I hate, I mean really hate, stupid goon hockey. But I know that a team needs to take care of their own, and this team can't/won't do that. It's not on the coach. It's on the players. Always has been, always will.

Not to excuse Marchand or Bruins, but the lack of response is what invites these cheap shots. Marchand is not slow footing people in 82 games.

The response from our team is in line with Marner's pressers
. There is the core and expendable rest that needs to do better. IF they get hurt, it's sad but Core 4 don't care.

Sometimes this team sickens me.

Marner watches Liljegren get dump trucked and does nothing. Then lies about it after and says he didn't see anything. The coach couldn't even be bothered to send out Reaves to punch Marchand in his stupid ugly face.

Keefe was disgusting in displays of both pacifism and favouritism.

Bertuzzi demoted and gets a timeout. Meanwhile Marner continues to receive over twenty minutes a night serving up muffins. The players on lucrative contracts aren't held accountable.

No respect for themselves or the team.

A lack of responsibility starts at the top. With the spoiled rotten slugs who can't be bothered to put in a full effort every night. They should be using all that energy saved from not playing hard to beat the shit out of Marchand.

It'd be nice if the top end talent wasn't a bunch of heartless, gutless, no pride wimps.

Keefe too for that matter.

The core 4 I think Nylander when in a scrum will at least do so pushing. Marner we saw the look on his face when Tkachuk had him waiting for the ref to save him Matthews just takes shots and does protect himself Tavares looks like a bobble head in a scrum. The fact that all the toughness that’s been brought in doesn’t do the job I think is a reflection on Keefe. Kypreos summed it up in the first intermission these guys have no backbone and no respect for each other.

Its probably been Shanny the whole time but Dubas shared the vision from the start. Probably the reason he got the job.

All you have to do is look at the bench. Reeves was yapping at Marchand while everyone else was looking around, looking away……everywhere but at Marchand.
Nobody even tried to lay a body check on him the rest of the game.
The post game presser Reilly was asked about it and his was response that he didn’t have a good angle and thought it was just one of those things that happen retrieving a puck.
