Rielly isn't to blame for everything, but it doesn't help when you have a Dman playing 20+ mins a night who you can't count on defensively. On a team that has had so much success this season, he's the ONLY Dman on the team with a NEGATIVE +/- number.

Seems like both Samsonov and Murray are starting to come down to earth abit in their play and its going to be up to the defense to help out and if Rielly can't improve his defensive play its going to hurt the team long term.
Thats a fair comment. Rielly is a mess defensively but what do you do because they aren't going to trade him at least not this season? Manage around it.

Did he though? The skaters left him out to dry on pretty much all those goals. Would have loved to see an extra save or two, but none of those goals make me say "oh, should have had that one".

Two PP goals against where they moved the puck at will. Two on one off a turnover. Comedy of errors to start the game (boy was that a precursor to the 3rd period).
No one can answer which goal was on Murray when challenged.

A breakaway, a backdoor tap in, a pp rebound tap in....the only goal he maybe should've had was the blocker high shot but even that was a well placed shot where the player had plenty of time.

Leafs played like absolute garbage. Bunting was the only guy again playing with intensity and hovering around the net. Other leafs were ripping around the perimeter as usual.

Leafs would've had more success had they searched Tavares and Marner...21 million... At least Matthews and Nylander looked like star players (albeit perimeter ones).

maybe try jt and matthews together, and nylander and marner together.

numerically its gonna be the same

22 million line and 18 million line

might work

May be leave them as is may help with the cap when resigning them. Nylander may just go on a blitz with Marner LOL

Because it’s normal for players to have a down year. Scoring 60 is not fcking normal. He isn’t going to do that every year. We got spoiled with his 60 goal season now we expect that every single time. It’s completely unrealistic. There’s a reason why it only happens like once every 5-10 years.
Pretty much this. Just look at Ovi, it was not long ago that people thought he lost it and no longer elite and that’s bc he didn’t score 40 goals and now people are wondering when will he break Wayne’s record.
Some fans really do expect players to continue to top their best seasons year after year after year.

That Dubas stroke of genius bringing in Samsonov and Murray is looking not so stroke of genius real quick.

On the other hand, it is odd both goalies almost simultaneously go from elite-like numbers to dog crap overnight. And can't really blame them too much when the team in front of them looks as disinterested in playing as they did tonight after the first period.

Playoffs will determine dubas' future here; we may get some indication clsoer to march/april depending on how things are looking

that said leafs have gone away from their defensive game a bit and also puck management has been poor last few games IMO

Toronto just got CRUSHED by Arizona. Murray is f***ing terrible. Between him and Samsonov, they are the worst goaltending duo in the league. f***ing bush league.
You need to take a breath.
