There is to much to fix on this team.
I said at the beginning of the year to take a step back.
Didn't know Sammy was going to shit the bed.
Hold on to our first it could be a top 15 pick.
We're going to cruise to a 100 point plus season, challenging for 1st in division. Ain't getting a top 15 here.

But I say again, that's the game Sammy lost his job with the Leafs. You gotta waiver him now when Woll comes back. I mean, I guess who knows, #1 Cop Babrovosky sucked for half a decade and then nearly carried Florida to a Cup, but at the moment you can't play him again unless you have to and that's a downward spiral. It's really disappointing right now. But regular season success isn't in question here.

BwO for life right?

Hmm
Knies/Bert Matthews Nylander
Knies/Bert Domi Marner
Gregor Tavares Jarny

Would not made any difference this game , but that third line was not good. I belive Marner is needed to level Domi up. And get the lines more balanced. Tavares should be on the third line to make that line way better. If they dont want to try the Nylander at C again.

And yeah call up Dennis if this crap goaling continues into Februari.

I just got back from the game... and what a game it was. Yikes

It was just terrible... sloppy D coverage, like just awful, again too many high danger chances against.. breakaways, sloppy passes leading to coughing up the puck, odd man situations, just disorganized.. maybe not as disinterested as other times, but just terrible play. Then Samsonov... I mean, that second goal, not really his fault, but the other four... those should have been saveable... and Jones, well... I'm not sure what to say, the team had kind of given up by then, but he wasn't any good... just a terrible embarassing game all around.

You guys forget the Leafs have a guarantee to mail it in with Buffalo contract. We always lose to them. That being said they will lose first round in 7,:Nylander will get $12M somewhere and finally someone will say this stupid experiment is over. Keefe fired and Tavares traded. You can't pay a 3rd line C 11M.You need a backend to win. So much for we will just outscore them.

HORRENDOUS. Every f***ing single one of them. Zero excuses to have an effort like that in two of the last four games.

This group of forwards are a travesty defensively.

Goaltending... Nothing to say.

I have come to grips tonight that in the big picture, we have great players but a bad team. We'll get lots of regular season wins, but when all the bad teams are gone, we're toast. Fully prepared for a one round and done scenario.

Disgusting.
But they will be shown respect in the handshake lineup. That is the most important point. We need a Torts behind the bench, not Mr. Magoo.

Nope. Culture has to change, that means coaching has to change
No, not a cup fav,
Get rid of Mr. Magoo behind the bench. Bring in Gerard Gallant. Run a structured system. The p***yes on the team will hate him, but the muckers will love him.
Nick Robertson not cutting it. Move Noah Gregor up in the line up, and bring up Holmberg.
Package Robertson / Timmins in some sort of a deal for a #2 to 4 RHD. Lines: Gregor Matthews Nylander Bert JT Jarnkrok Kneiss Max Marner Holmberg Kampf Bobby Mac
Gives you 3 solid lines, with a mucker and a D aware forward on each line Scour the floor for a fourth line thumper that has some size, can skate and hit.

Another random embarassing bad luck loss that seems to happen with alarming regularity for this franchise.

So hard to believe there are fans who still choose to focus on regular season success with this team. Rather than demanding the highest level of performance. The Leafs are never gonna win anything with those low standards.

The complacency in this fan base is mind numbing.

To be honest it strikes me as a little bit simple. Like they don't understand the game. So they base their opinion of the team by the wins column.

Like some casual Joe Bandwagoneer fan.

If, by the end of the year, the Leafs have more wins than losses, they're happy. If, by year's end, the Leafs have more losses than wins, they're sad. The team just has make the playoffs every year.

Then it's random luck from that point on and not worth worrying about.

To many fans are to willing to make excuses for this team or want to simply switch lines around . The real problem is a loser complacent attitude from Shanny right down to the fans that look for every excuse To defend this awful team construction and heart.

I don't care what our wins are like. We're either a good , mediocre or bad team. This is not the sign of a good team which means we're either mediocre or bad. I'm leaning towards mediocre this morning (last night was a different story).

So there are areas to improve and it has to start with not starting Samsonov anymore.... I'm afraid his time has ended in Toronto.

Whatever defensive system we’re supposedly running is terrible. I can’t pinpoint it because it looks so convoluted but players seem to be skating across Narnia to get to where Keefe wants them to be for some reason.

Fire Keefe please for the love of God!

Yes, a true #1 defenseman and a solid goalie.

As much as we love Mo, he clearly isn't that guy.

Keefe's post game, he's bewildered, defeated, flummoxed. It's the same guy we've seen every time we have a set back, particularly in the playoffs. No answers, always says "I dont know why", he looks as lost as his team. Maybe there's something to that.

1. Goaltending tonight was brutal, this won't be the end of Sammy but he won't be back next season. He gives me the Campbell vibes, just not strong enough between the ears.

2. Team personal on the back end is starting to get exposed, having to run 2 AHL dman in Timmins/Lagesson/Benoit every night hurts, even when Gio is back, they are still 1 to 2 good d-man away from icing a good d-core

3. Team d-zone play is getting exposed hard, the fact that Keefe with a struggling goaltender and a AHL 3rd pairing d-pair hasn't tighten it up is a bit concerning. At the end of the day, the d-zone play and defenseman we have, it's not a championship caliber team.
and the D is actually slightly better than we thought they’d be.
