Talking about the 1st goal?

Holl shovels the puck weakly from the goal line to ZAR who then flubs it leading to a turn-over.
Perry skates around the back of the net and comes out the other side where Holl is positioned to hit him and stop the play.
Holl waves his stick and doesn't make any contact at all.
The puck goes to the slot, gets scrummed, and the puck goes into the net.
All the while Justin Holl is standing to the right of his goalie not covering anyone or boxing anyone out or playing the puck, or actually doing anything.

The play started with Holl, was exacerbated by ZAR, and further exacerbated by Holl.
I’m glad people are talking about this. The game just started there was bloody 19 minutes left in the First period and fkn ZAR hops the boards.

Sure holl started it but anyone with hands would have just made a different play. ZAR is our worst player and he gets th e second shift 🤣

Did the video review folks call it a goal or did they deem the review inconclusive so they went with the call on the ice?
Officials said it was confirmed, which leads me to believe they agreed with the on ice call

I asked that earlier today with no response. I think it's safe to assume that all penalties were called by McCauley.
The other ref was #17 I believe. He called the slash and the CC I believe. Wes called the major which turned into a match.

#17 was the referee in Tampa that fingered Bunting when Johnny Toronto was getting jumped by 3 Tampa players

It wouldn't matter of course, because the refs are infallible and not a single one has ever made a wrong call in their lives. Especially not one that goes against the Leafs!
The ref obviously just had super laser telescopic x-ray vision.
Also, there's totally evidence of the puck crossing the line, but it's a secret. Shh. No looksies. Anybody that asks to see it is making pronouncements and can't be argued with!

Except you did, seen here:

And then I asked you to provide this evidence, and show it to the overwhelming majority that disagree with you, and you have repeatedly refused.

Ok, where is it? I'd love to see it. So many people talking about this magical secret evidence that nobody can provide. Show me the evidence.

Lol, what? I didn't even post that video.
Oh, Dekes, you can't even admit you are wrong when you actually provide the evidence.

OIr do you not understand the difference between 'I' and "they"?

I'm sure if it was anywhere near as conclusive as a couple of posters (or 'overwhelming majority' as Dekes fantasizes) think, they would obviously have overturned it.

Oh Jamason, you can't even admit you are wrong when the evidence is right in front of you, in your own words.
You literally said the evidence was provided and you saw it. Which means your claim is that you have evidence.
For like the 5th time, where's the evidence? You'd think it would be a pretty simple thing to provide, if you actually had it.

The question is is what does Holl have on Keefe?
seriously the guys the Brooks Kopeka/Ekblad pylon!!

Overdrive guys hit the nail on the head..... 3rd period effort was even more embarrassing than the result. Where is the fight? Where is the effort? Nobody gave a shit and just mailed it in. Also Tavares pissed me off with his "learning" comment. How long does it take to learn to start on time? This is year what? 6? Be honest at least we just flat out sucked.

Again, that's not what I said. Stop wasting my time.

Overdrive guys were in fine form today. Somewhat of a recap:

- Ripped Tavares a new one for his typical monotone post-game, ChatGPT-created comments.
- Bunting's hit was bad, inexcusable. Even if somehow he isn't suspended they expect Knies will start Thursday.
- Keefe already shuffling lines after one game (even aside from the expectation that Bunting will get at least a game). Just as many of us said: He's had months to figure out what works and hasn't. He's already getting badly outcoached by Cooper.
- Everyone was bad except maybe Schenn. Once again, stars didn't step up while Tampa's did.
- Expect a lot better game 2, likely a win but if not, whoa baby.

I can’t believe we got dominated by 38 year old Corey f***ing Perry that can’t even skate and didn’t have a point in his final 10 regular season games. Unbelievable.
Perry is an OG. Don't sleep on him. He knows how to take his game up a notch better than most for the playoffs.

Again, that's not what I said. Stop wasting my time.
It literally is what you said. I literally provided the quote to you. Your own quote. Unlike you, I actually post my evidence. I could post it again if you want.
But okay, I guess now we're going with the argument that there is zero evidence of the puck crossing the goal line... Which is exactly what I said in the first place.

You initiate a conversation with me claiming to have evidence, I ask for the evidence, you repeatedly refuse to provide it and badmouth me to multiple other users for daring to ask, and now suddenly you're agreeing with the exact thing I said in the first place, and you have the nerve to talk about me wasting your time?

I don’t know if my calmness is because I’m still confident in this team or because I’ve been so consistently let down by this franchise I’ve lost the ability to care.
My money is on your neat down like the rest of us. Every dam year we get up for the playoffs and this last night is what they give us. Simply pathetic

DoPS is waiting to see how bad the injury is and will give out suspension then. Which is a new twist for them.
My guess it’ll be two or three games longer than a what they give on regular season suspension.

it means he claims that he saw the evidence that another party provided.
Which means he would now have that evidence, as it was passed along to him. And he could pass it on to others requesting it.
And yet he repeatedly refused to provide it, or even explain what he's referring to, and now seems to be acknowledging that there was never any evidence in the first place.

Tbh, perhaps things aren’t as bad as they seem. Do I want this team to find a way to get over their fear and just go out there and win? Hell yeah!

BUT…

If we once again succumb to failure, all is not lost. There would obviously be major changes coming to this organization. New GM and new coach, for starters.

And what new GM would be idiotic enough to keep the same core players and try to just repeat the same process, hoping for a different outcome??? Hopefully none that the Leafs would hire.

So that would mean that there would be changes to the core as well. I imagine that a new GM could remould this team’s identity pretty quickly, with the return he’d get from one or more of those core players.

I have no doubt that a good GM could keep the Leafs just as competitive as they already are, but build them in a way that would yield better results in the playoffs.

So, in short, no matter how you look at it, there are VERY exciting times coming for the Toronto Maple Leafs and their fans! Let’s just sit back and not lose our minds during this series. One way or another, there’s good that will come from this.

They had clear video evidence it was in.
I saw that “clear video evidence” too. The one thing I asked myself when I saw it was,”Where is the goal line?” You can clearly see the goal line from right to left up to Sammy’s pads and then it somehow disappears where the puck lies.

The puck is still up against the post (where the goal line is), but you can’t see the goal line at all around the puck. That doesn’t make any sense to me.

The only thing I can conclude, is that the goal line was covered in snow at and near the post. The puck “appears” to be completely over the line, yet there’s no line to be seen.

IMHO, that shouldn’t have been called a goal.

We just need to actually start on time next game and get good goaltending and we'll win.

Don't run around like a chicken with it's head cutoff, stop taking stupid penalties and actually play the game like you got a pair.

I have high hopes for a good bounce back revenge game, if they come out flat again its time for big changes everywhere. There's only so much you can blame the GM and coach. On paper this team is sick, we have all the parts to win, the boys just actually have to do their jobs.
